I had high hopes for Singapore Bumboat River Tour after having read positive reviews on TripAdvisor and is seems to be highly touted on various Singapore travel websites. While I was not totally disappointed after the ride, I felt it was not that memorable. I think while the recorded commentary was interesting (though hardly audible over the boat engine noise)... We have lived in Singapore for many years and decided to take some friends, who were in town, on a bumboat ride down the river. We simply wanted to go from Clarke Quay to the Fullerton, a 10 minute ride. We were told to wait for 20 minutes. After 30 minutes - and it was a baking hot day -... More

On the spur of the moment we decided to take the short river cruise on the electric bumboat boats (no fumes and silent) that leave from Clarke’s Quay. No need to book, just turn up and pay your $18/adult. The tour lasted 40 mins and included a very clear and informative (if somewhat cloying) AV commentary describing the sites along... More

The cruise map on the website and in the brochure shows 12 jetties. The brochure refers to a 40 minute trip cruising from the river to the bay. I wrongly formed the impression that the boat would at least cruise past all areas. It didn't. We embarked at the Esplanade jetty (no. 9) and were promptly returned there 40 minutes... More

If you can tune out the disinterested service, then the boat ride itself offers a pleasant exploration of the lower part of Singapore River. From buying our tickets, to boarding/disembarking, and use of an outdated DVD commentary, this operation struck us as a long established one that now takes its clients for granted. But popular it is, with well patronised... More

Hi, I am sorry about your unpleasant experience with the cruise ride. However we are not operating at Clifford Pier and you might have just review at the wrong section. We are running Singapore River Cruise and not River explorer. More

I did this ride during the day. It was very good and worth the money. It is 18$ for an adult. The ride lasts for 40 minutes and it gives you a chance to take lots of picture and find out about the history of the different areas. I walked through Canning Park before getting on the boat ride.

If you set your expectation for a non-interactive, cooling, sedate, boat trip to Clarke Quay and back to the Merlion, with an out of date dvd playing at appropriate points, then you will not be disappointed. $18SD per adult, $10SD per child 2-12; Cash only. Still worthwhile, but set expectations accordingly - it wont be the best boat trip you've... More

We boarded the last trip (10:30pm) of their tours. This tour gives us perfect night view of the Singapore. Their automated running commentary gives some information about Singapore history. We (3) and another couple were the only people in that trip. So we were able switch from one side to another side of the boat based on the attraction they... More

We booked this at the last minute. It's a great way to see all the landmark buildings from River level. Best time to go is early evening. Try to sit at the back of the beds to get the best view. Highly recommended and the staff were very friendly.

We live in Singapore, so we know our way around better than most foreigners. We paid full price for this tour, but the boat only went halfway up the river (to Clarke Quay rather than Robertson Quay), and didn't go out to near the Singapore Flyer at all. The map showed the whole river, but we only got taken to... More
