Description: Sitting on prime waterfront at Marina Bay, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay...
Sitting on prime waterfront at Marina Bay, Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay offers a complete lifestyle experience in dining, shopping and the performing arts. It was completed in 2002 and is well-recognised for its “prickly” exterior similar to the durian, a popular local fruit.

I have been to the theaters here several times to catch performances. This pair of theaters is housed in dome shaped buildings that resemble eyes of a fly, or a pair of durians when you catch a birds eye view of the buildings. The theaters are where major shows and performances are staged. Throughout the year, you can find an... More

An amazing concert hall. We were there on Sunday afternoon and saw young students perform with a full brass band. It was a memorable visit for sure

Spectacular sight. Would definitely see again. Singapore is such a wonderful city. The light & water show at Marina Bay Sands was well worth viewing.

North of the mouth of the river lies the Esplanade–Theatres on the Bay which is the main venue of performing arts in the country.

Esplanade concert hall must be one of few world fabulous opera houses. Go the photos at https://www.facebook.com/teguh.santoso.9277583/posts/1628436497387001?pnref=story I truly enjoyed the May 2015 Joyce DIDonato's extraordinarily elegant, high clarity of Baroque music, yet with high sense of humour performance. The Esplanade adds to the grand performance with 4 decks of balcony (used only 2 this time). Even a Crescent Girls'... More

If u are there for a play or concert or skit or show, well, it's ok. Else, photo taking and enjoy the free aircon is fine. Food wise, limited selections. Retail wise, even more limited selections. It's a theatre so don't expect anything. However, it does give u a pretty nice view of the bay/harbour/reservoir/water catchment area (whatever u wanna... More

The Esplanade is an excellent venue for the arts, which features free musical and sometimes theatrical performances almost every day at the Concourse and Outdoor Theatre (On the Waterfront). These performances span a wide array of genres, with every thing from funk to post-rock. They also have special monthly programming such as Jazz in July and Celebrate December and annual... More

Staying in Marina Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighborhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.
