I discovered the theatres on the bay also known as the Esplanade during a walk from the Marina Bay Sands Hotel around the Marina Bay. It was a weekend and there was a free concert on the outside bandstand. I was able to sit on the wall near the bay and listen to a young group jamming very nicely for... More

We were on a one day trip to Singapore on Sunday. Since my wife wanted to see scenery instead of the usual shopping, I took her to the Esplanade. We started at City Hall MRT station and from there used the underground pedestrian link way which incidentally connects you to The Esplanade, Marina Square and Suntec City without have to... More

I arrived by MRT at Esplanade and had a little trek to get to the waterfront. My original aim was to experience the Marina Bay Sands music and light show at 8pm. I was fortunate to chance on a free classical music event indoors in the concourse and then a free rock music event in the outdoor amphitheatre. Brilliant Singapore,... More

This place has it ALL! A great cultural space with free concerts in the evening. We enjoyed a wonderful classical music inside and fabulous rock concerts outside last night. As you are enjoying the free outdoor concert you get to enjoy the beautiful view of the Marinabaysands on the left side and the Fullerton hotel on your right. As our... More

I went to a concert at the Esplanade Concert Hall, and I enjoyed the experience. I arrived early and walked around the complex. Wonderful views of Marina Bay Sands from this side. The concert hall itself exuded warmth because of the wooden floors and panelling, similar to modern halls in Europe and North America. Acoustics was good. Great views of... More

What an amazing facility. After our singapore flyer ride, we wandered over to the Theatres on the Bay and spent some time inside with free concert both within and outside. Too bad we didn't have more time in Singapore to take in a concert.

At night you get the most spectacular views of singapore skyline. I think this is better viewing spot than skypark at marina bay sands and also better viewing that the singapore flyer. From the esplanade theatre mall roof top you can take pictures of the marvelous marina bay sands hotel and also of the high rise buildings as the skyline.... More

We were lucky enough to be In Singapore over Chinese New year and happened to chance upon the theatre by the bay one evening. On their outside stage they had performances by the Singapore Armed Forces orchestra. They played traditional music for free for around 45 minutes. We seemed to have timed our visit perfectly. It was wonderful watching them... More

I recently went on a tour of the theatres - they run them three times a day but its not heavily advertised yet - it was excellent value, just SGD 10 for a 1 hour comprehensive tour. I blogged about it here http://alisonsadventuresintheatreland.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/changi-wwii-war-trail-11215.html Can thoroughly recommend, such lovely staff and a beautiful building

Staying in Marina Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighborhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.
