City hall connects the Green Line MRT with the Red Line. I always prefer t spend some time shopping at the station browsing through various shops at the CIty link mall. With all major brands on display along with popular eateries, its a good place to spend some time while transiting from one station to another

Without a brolly, we ended up going for a train trip and got off at City Hall MRT. I was impressed with how easy it was to get around, without getting wet, and travelling underground we ended up at the Fairmont and Stamford Hotels. Taking the high rise lift in the Stamford, if you are dressed semi formal you can... More

Currently undergoing some fairly extensive renovation work, presumably so as to be ready before Singapore's 50th birthday party. Walking past you can still get a good idea of its former glory.

Most of the buildings were graced with a unique architecture of Europe that I thought I was in some Western European country than in Singapore. The St. Andrew church was most likely the most beautiful church I've ever seen with all white building color. Esplanade Bridge fulfills the view with the same white design. Victoria theatre was indeed beautiful, looked... More

More Singapore grace and style. Well located in a very central location. Safe but take care of the oppressive heat and humidity. Some excellent church and building architecture to be observed and photographed. Heaps of food and shopping not far away. Always great people watching opportunities in Singapore. Overall, Singapore compares to Hong Kong as being exceedingly well placed in... More

City Hall precinct has the huge Raffles Plaza shopping centre in it, with a 3 floor Robinsons as well as stacks of bars, restaurants and casual eateries. For mine its a much nicer area to stay than the massively overcrowded Orchard Road area. Great hotels here, including Carlton, Swissotel Stamford, Fairmont, Raffles, Naumi, Pan Pacific amongst many others.

Staying in Marina Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Marina Bay
More of a mini city than a neighborhood in the traditional sense, the iconic Marina Bay aims to dazzle and entertain visitors of all kinds. This is the Singapore found in glossy brochures, featuring a world-class hotel, casino, shops, restaurants, bars, and other attractions all geared towards pure entertainment. The SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands provides a stunning view of the city, a must-see photo opportunity for visitors and locals alike. The ArtScience Museum always has a top-quality exhibition, and Gardens by the Bay is a fascinating manifestation of the government’s vision of Singapore as a “city in a garden”. Enticing Marina Bay is well worth a visit.
