Worthwhile travelling Emerald if only for the benefit of getting the visa on board. Separate check in at Tanah Merah , luggage check in if wanted. Friendly staff at check in and all the way through outbound and return journey. Separate lounge and boarding to upper deck for Emerald class. Nice big reclineable seats. 1 hour journey and able to... We booked Emeralds Class as there was no other way to get ticket for the right departures. This however, was worth every penny. The journey only takes one hour, but the great advantage is that checkin and checkout is made very easy and comfortable.

The ferry trip to Bintan island was lovely, the boat was much bigger and significantly nicer than I expected, air conditioned and very comfortable. Would recommend.

We booked Emerald Class on the Bintan Ferry so we could buy the Indonesian visa on board as we had been warned of the queues for this on arrival on the island. What a mistake! Although we had the correct amount in US dollars the staff on the ferry refused to accept our money and refused to issue a visa.... More

They advertise "Safety First" but like a lot over Indonesia, they do the talk but don't do the walk! How can these ferries be safe when the safety video has the sound turned down so low that no one can possibly hear what they should do in an emergency! That means each passenger has absolutely NO SAFETY knowledge while onboard... More

One of the best ferries in terms of cleanliness, spacious, luxury & comfort. When you travel to Bintan go by Emerald class (should experience this once, it's the Business class) and when coming back, you can go by Economy class. Buy online for Economy class and when u check-in, you can upgrade for a 1-way Emerald class.
