If you buy a tv or an expensive camera you'll surely get ripped of. But, if you are looking for a special cable or a component there are few places in the world that can compare!

Please beware of shop #02-77 at Sim Lim Square. They originally label themselves as "Cyber Maestro" but the current signage reads as VS One LLP. We have recently put up a complain about them as they were asking up to pay $800 more after paying $500 for a Samsung S3. We didn't get our money nor the phone we wanted.... More

Every time I pass through Singapore to my relevant destination or to home (this is my mid point stopover), at all time I make an effort to come to Sim Lim Square. This has been my regular pilgrimage since 2000 every year and sometimes twice a year. Back in 2000, the place was wonderful and ever so cheap to purchase... More

On 04th July 2014 me too had same terrible experience in same place in Sim Lim Square ground floor. They were 100% cheating me and they stealed 600 SGD for a mobile phone(Samsung Galaxy S5) that they before gave to me and then after asking me to sign the GST refound that in realty was a "local store warranty contract"... Awful shops that cheat you of your money. Don't trust most shops, lots of people trying to drag you in. Over all experience was OK though, bought a working ps4 game in some shop on the upper floors. Price at home €69, there only S$74 (~45€) so I got a good price.

I had been to this place at around 10pm and most of the shops were closed except for 1 or 2. I enquired the price of the phone and the guy quoted me $400, which was at par with the market. Then my cousin asked for another phone which he quoted $460. And later when we said that we will... More

As others have pointed out, the place is inhabited by vultures, especially the camera and phone sellers on the lower floors. However... Sim Lim Square has six floors. If you need a cable or some other doodad while traveling, there is a good chance that what you are looking for is available on the upper floors. I have found the... More

I live in Singapore and visit Sim Lim square occasionally. Management are trying to improve the reputation of the place and have set up a booth on the ground floor manned by the Consumers Association of Singapore to help with complaints. They give out a list of the retailers with the most complaints against them, whilst I was there the... More

I was charged s$130 for a polarizing 52 mm filter that I later found I can buy for $20US online or In another shop for S$40. So don't buy anything from here unless you know what the price is. He said he gave me a 60% discount too! I was so annoyed I tried to call him but they didn't... More

It is dodgy, swanky, smelly and everyone is trying to rip you off. I reckon it is great. You can get anything here. Sometimes it even works. Have a laugh at the entrance where the shops that have been reported to fair trading are listed. The real value is in getting that hard to find cable. There in nothing not... More
