After three days in Singapore, I really wanted a break from high-rise city-scapes and shopping - something a bit more rustic and "Southeast Asian". My wife had booked us both into a cookery class, which didn't strike me as much of an alternative. In fact, it was an eye-opener. The cookery was fun, and the results were great: especially the... more

Having read the reviews I was so excited about this experience - booked the Pulau Ubin trip for myself and boyfriend. In short - we enjoyed it but couldnt help feeling it was a bit of a rip off that the mostly expat wives were happy to pay. The short walk to learn about the herbs was the most interesting... more

Went with my family and girlfriend for a class.. great in-home setting, lovely conversation. I've kept the recipes and I've been successful in making these dishes back at home. Only drawback, there isn't space for you to actively cook, it's more learning by observation and discussion. more

I had a great time learning from Ruqxana . She loves what she does and this is reflected in her enthusiasm and her teaching. She has a great knowledge about food in general.I would highly recommend Cookery Magic to anyone visiting Singapore. We attended Ruqxana's Singaporean Classics class and can't give it a higher recommendation. We felt immediately at home in her house and were enthralled from start to delicious end. Her personal additions to each dish moved it beyond an ordinary cooking class. We tasted and tried and asked questions throughout the time we were there. Ruqxana as a teacher is... more

I took Ruqxana's Malay cooking class on the first of our 3 days in Singapore. Classes are held at Ruxqana's eclectic home (a great way to get out of downtown and into a pretty neighborhood). She does a very good job of demonstrating techniques and giving general cooking tips to help with any recipe. When my boyfriend asked me for... more

If you're looking for an authentic cooking experience, Ruqxana's classes are it! On a recent trip to Singapore, i decided to take a malay cooking class. I browsed the internet and just happened to stumble upon Cookery Magic, Ruqxana's website. One of the malay classes that appealed to me was the class Ruqxana taught on Pulau Ubin. In one word... more
