With Ruqxana at Cookery Magic I have learnt this week how to cook 3 authentic North Indian dishes that can easily be reproduced at home. Having visited Northern India last year I wanted to learn how to cook the food I had enjoyed so much. This is the way to learn: in a home kitchen with Ruqxana supervising, advising and... More

I have taken numerous cooking classes around the world including the Culinary Institute of America in Napa. I learned more in the 3 hours of Roxannes class than I did while attending 3 days at the CIA! Fun and Fabulous!!

I took two completely different semi-private classes One class was three different curries; one was Singaporean Chinese. Ryqxana was great. Many cookery classes are only observation - not these. They were totally hands on and very fun. I learned new ingredients and have rethought how I cook a number of basics - like rice. Completely recommend the experience.

We found Ruqxana on the internet, and decided to book 2 private lessons, on successive afternoons. It's definitely the most expensive way, but my wife did want to really get involved in the dishes, so it felt right. The results were wonderful. Day 1 saw a beef rendang, nyonya laksa and oppor ayan covered, all of which were fantastic. You... More

I was initially disappointed that my trip wasn't time to do a class of Singapore favourites, but the Indonesia 1 class was great! Ruqxana made us all feel very welcome and at ease and had an excellent teaching style - she made the class feel like fun while we were also learning some very yummy dishes! Although the weather was... More

This is my second visit to Cookery Magic and I have enjoyed and learnt a lot both times. Today was taught how to do Chill Prawn (Chilli Crab was an option but my wife is allergic to crab), Char Kway Tiao and Onde Onde. Started with Onde Onde, with a melt-in-your mouth experience. The chilli prawn was a stand-out and... More

we have done cooking classes in Malaysia; Bali & Australia and Ruqxana's classes are the best we have experienced. The whole session was a combination of hospitality; fun; learning; laughter and informative. ...and the food, amazing even if I do have to say so myself. Ruqxana was only to happy to share her wealth of knowledge and experience as well... More

My thanks to the lovely Ruqxana for a really enjoyable morning cooking Laksa and chicken Satay today and to my fellow guests Mark and Kim who made it so memorable. The experience was lovely, being welcomed into Ruqxana's home and cooking on the terrace with the cats for company! I have only two concerns as a Tripadvisor reviewer: The first... More

It's so easy to get sucked into all the excitement of shopping malls and miss out on an authentic experience when you visit Singapore so I strongly recommend you try rolling your sleeves up and get cooking with Ruqxana! In the heart of suburbia she opens her doors and into the world of fresh ingredients and spices to make even... More

Have already been 3 times to Ruqxana's Class at Cookery magic. And I'll certainly come back again. First of all you don't feel like you're hiring a class in some sort of cold school where you are just one more because Ruqxana receives her guests in her own beautiful suburban house and she gives a very personal and kind attention...
