Since getting the Day Tour from Sumilon Blue Water is way too expensive at P 2,000 each for us, we decided to get to the famous beautiful Island by boat being offered by whom we thought was a boatman from Brumini Resort, but turned out to be the middle man. SInce getting the boat for ourselves (we are a couple)... More

Hubby and I, together with my brother and his wife, went to Sumilon Island when we visited Oslob for the whale shark watching. We were there only for the whole afternoon and it was not enough. Don't pay for a package tour, though. I heard it's P1500 per person which is totally ridiculous. Just do it yourself, bring some foods,... More

First, welcome to paradise If you like beaches and snorkling, this is like paradise with pristine water and white sand beach. Fish is plenty and much bigger than other surrounding areas, but most corals dead.Lagoon in front of the dive shop is calm and a pleasant snorkling place. The island also boast a Marine Sanctuary, at the other rougher side... More

There is no shade, restroom or a cabana you can get on this side of the island. Make sure to bring your own umbrella and chair if you need them. You can bring your own food but no cooking on the island please. This is beside the Sumilon Blue Water resort but in my opinion is much better than the... More

The Energy is still up after the Oslob Whale Shark experience, when we headed Sumilon Bluewater Island Resort. Php1500.00/head is ok for the Buffet Lunch (As told ) Boat transfers and Island Activities. I may say the place needs something to lighten up (decors or perhaps cleaning) Water activities? --We're quite disappointed, the Snorkling gears attendant needs coaching sessions--at least... More

We went to Sumilon on a day trip, specifically to snorkel. Unfortunately, on the day we went, the supposedly best snorkelling area was inaccessible due to strong winds and large swells, so we were left to snorkel on the beach in front of the lagoon, where the coral was mostly dead (destroyed by typhoon) and there were very few fish.... We spent rented a boat that took us to Sumilon and stopped along the way to see the whale sharks. The queues to see the whale shark are long...the best way to kill time is to snorkel at Sumilon and return later. Sumilon is about 15 minutes from the whale sharks by boat.

At the time we came, the waters near the shore line were full of plants and jelly fish. So we had to move away about a kilometer, about chest deep, to experience blue clear waters. The colors in nature that you see from several hues of blue from the sky to the sea .. are just mesmerizing!
