The place is very charming with its clean premises and sculptured gardens. The main attraction was the collection of butterflies, and it was exciting having so many butterflies fluttering around within reach. We did not get a guide, but friendly tourists happily offered us the chance to coerce the butterflies from their fingers onto ours - and it was not... More

We visited when it was raining, so not many butterflies were around. The gardens are okay, but the small displays of preserved butterflies need maintaining and cleaning if they are to come up to the same standards as some of those to be seen in Thailand. The snack and drinks shop clearly does not cater to western visitors as there... More

Thank you for posting your review of Habitat Bohol on tripadvisor. Yes when the weather is cool and wet, the butterflies are resting, and hard to see inside the enclosure and also in the garden, it's natural. And yes our dry stock displays are in need of more care because of the damp weather in Bilar, the displays are easily... More

The place is more commonly referred to by tour guides as the BUTTERFLY FARM / GARDEN because its main attraction is its extensive collection of butterflies, both alive and preserved. It has a smooth and well-planned layout which makes the tour pleasant and easy. The witty guide assigned to our small group of four made our walk-through not only entertaining... More

This has to be one of the worst tourist attractions I've ever seen! So you expect to see butterflies at a sanctuary, right? Other than the ones we saw dead between two panes of glass, our total count was 3. For the whole place. 3 butterflies. And a hundred bad jokes from the guide.

Thank you for reviewing Habitat Bohol. Sorry you did not enjoy your visit. The weather is not always perfect for butterflies and therefor they are not visible sometimes. Sometimes the guide gets a bit carried away and forgets that not all guests are the same, and not everyone enjoys the local jokes. It was just unlucky the guide that you... More

It was raining the day we went and the butterflies were in hiding! Only one or two were attached to branches and as butterflies as essentially very lazy, in particular the Filipino black and yellow giant butterfly, we were able to carefully handle them and have them attached to our hair or faces for photo opportunities. Meanwhile, we took an... More

Cool butterflies, place is very well taken care of. Entrancefee is next-to-nothing. Count on spending about 30 minutes here. The tourguide actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about. Prepare for a few very corny photo's with giant butterflies etc.

We were very surprised when we visited The butterfly santuary due to the fact that this place is maintaned in a way that it makes you think that somehow you are in heaven. Various types of buetterflies roam inside the santuary and many a time many if them came on our heads and also it was a great experience and... More
