The plaza is a great visit if you do some reading first (or watch the movie). I live here and have seen this little memorial park improve over the years. Besides the memorial, it over looks Puerto Princesa Bay and has plenty of shade. The original entrance is preserved and a great photo op. More

The memorial structure recognizing the bravery of those soldiers who died during WW2 is something to ponder. American soldiers died on Philippine soil to defend democracy is indeed an act of heroism worth emulating. More

Something needs to be done about the lack of maintenance and care given the monument to the 134 American soldiers who were murdered on that site by Japanese soldiers during World War II. The lights are broken and the plaques are in bad shape. I was saddened to see that there is no American flag flying over the site to... More

If you haven't seen the movie's opening scene with the Japanese burning alive the American prisoners, you won't get much from your visit. The entrance is just across the street from the Taft St. side entrance to the Cathedral. Admission is free. More

We stumbled upon this place, as it is close to the church. I had never heard of the Palawan Massacre before so it was totally a shock when the attendant brought us to the memorial. We just though it was a park and went inside to check it out. Its just a little peaceful park, overlooking the water and some... More

this plaza is small and just a few strides away from the cathedral in Puerto Princesa. clean and well maintained, except the wash rooms were locked when we were there and there's no one in charge of the place to help us. More

This is also part of our city tour. Great place and history but a very sad story. About a hundred plus soldiers were burned in this place and only 11 survived during the WW2. More
