I would not recommend this place if there's even the slightest bit of rain - it was disappointing when we took this tour. There's not much fireflies since it was drizzling, also, part of this tour was star gazing, so just imagine our tour guide being silent when it was supposed to tell us about stars and constellations - there's... You get dinner included as much as you want from a very extensive buffet. Fireflys react to noise and clapping your hands results in a whole tree lighting up with phosphorace (learnt this from the guide) spectacular.

Maybe I had too high of hopes for this. It sounded cool enough, i expected a river with trees lit up by thousands of fireflys. There were 4 trees lit up. If this was closer to town and didn't require as much effort or money, then I'd recommend it. 1000p is was too much to ask for this.

It was a paddle boat ride through the brackish water of Iwahig River. It was calm, quiet, dark and a bit eerie. But the fireflies were amazing. The boatman also gives a planetarium-like lecture of the stars and constellations. Very impressive. You can also see the planktons illuminating on the water on a very dark night. Wicked.

The boat men brought us to the center point of the river where there were mangroves surrounded us with brilliantly shining fireflies under a perfect sky with constellation. It seems that in a middle of a dark night, we were lighted by a spotlight and the blinking little lights being emitted by fireflies and stars in formation above. In a... More

This is totally hilarous! I can't imagine they are charging 600PHP for a very few non-visible fireflies and massive mosquitos sipping my blood all around. In addition to non-friedly and non-customer service oriented staff. Imagine, instead they gave the fan for there guest they just sit like owner and put the fan in front of them. I very very strongly... More

The river is nice to be looked during daytime. The staffs are not courteous enough. The ambiance at night is ordinary. Only 5-7 trees with static fireflies can be seen out of thousands of trees. For me who grew up in the province and have seen plenty of dynamic fireflies, the sight at Iwahig is purya gaba! Boat ride of... More

Terrific! Learned a lot about fireflies from our guide who put himself through college by being a guide. He had this laser light which he used to identify the stars in the night sky. He also used the red beam of this same flashlight to make the fireflies react as if there was a predator with red eyes. The fireflies... More

We started out early, rode a boat in Puerto Princesa Bay, and went in search of dolphins. Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us a lot about dolphins. Apparently a fisherman informs the boat where the dolphins are and we travel about an hour or a bit more. The sight of hundreds of dolphins suddenly surrounding our boat made... More

We went on the dark of the moon, when you can see the fireflies more clearly. The temperature was perfect on the calm waters. The ambient light from the city silhouetted the ancient mangrove trees and the stars were reflected on the river. To make things more magic, you could move your hand in the water to make the bioluminescent... More
