Myself and my friend had an evening free in the city (puerto princessa) so decided to book the firefly watching tour. We walked in off the street and booked it in a tourist office, it cost 1100 peso (not sure if we were ripped off or not.. I think most other reviews say it cost around 1000) and included dinner.... the whole thing is excellent. the only thing I noticed which happen 2 out of our 5 tour is people unreasonably late. of course tourist guide and drivers will not complain but guys if you are born tardy you are so annoying. the least that you can do if your pick up come back for you the second time be... really enjoyed this tour. we were brought to a ship for alfresco dining - fantastic spread! had a really good dinner before we set off to watch fireflies. lovely amount of healthy glowing fireflies. highly recommended tour.

Charging 1000php per head is too much - it included buffet dinner and the transport with guide. They should just eliminate the buffet dinner or give an option for tourists to have the tour without dinner. Seriously, the 1000 was a surprise!

it is a very pleasant boat ride, there is even a restaurant in the middle of the ocean. please do not use soap, as the used water goes directly in the ocean. do not use flash photography. very "back to nature". highly recommended

I would not recommend this place if there's even the slightest bit of rain - it was disappointing when we took this tour. There's not much fireflies since it was drizzling, also, part of this tour was star gazing, so just imagine our tour guide being silent when it was supposed to tell us about stars and constellations - there's... You get dinner included as much as you want from a very extensive buffet. Fireflys react to noise and clapping your hands results in a whole tree lighting up with phosphorace (learnt this from the guide) spectacular.

Maybe I had too high of hopes for this. It sounded cool enough, i expected a river with trees lit up by thousands of fireflys. There were 4 trees lit up. If this was closer to town and didn't require as much effort or money, then I'd recommend it. 1000p is was too much to ask for this.

It was a paddle boat ride through the brackish water of Iwahig River. It was calm, quiet, dark and a bit eerie. But the fireflies were amazing. The boatman also gives a planetarium-like lecture of the stars and constellations. Very impressive. You can also see the planktons illuminating on the water on a very dark night. Wicked.

The boat men brought us to the center point of the river where there were mangroves surrounded us with brilliantly shining fireflies under a perfect sky with constellation. It seems that in a middle of a dark night, we were lighted by a spotlight and the blinking little lights being emitted by fireflies and stars in formation above. In a... More
