A beautiful port of call

A once port for Spanish galleons, Puerto Galera is a beautiful bay. Elegant yachts grace the bay. Streets are lined with stalls selling a vast array of Filipino souvenirs.

It is a small cross, nothing to write home about but from photos you can see it is a good photo spot.

The Muelle Cross is a landmark located near the vicinity of Muelle Pier. It is worth a few snap shots especially to those visiting Puerto Galera for the first time.

This is where the boats docks if your route is Puerto Galera Muelle. Don't forget to check what they usually called "The Black Rice" at Muelle.

I've crossed the Verde Pass many times on the banka boats and they are well maintained and generally waterproof. Sometimes the wind and waves result in a splash but the plastic windows provide ample protection. Lots of life jackets and I feel very safe on their boats.

I gave this an 'average' rating as this is probably not really an 'attraction' for the average visitor to the town. The small wooden cross flanked by two cannon is in commemoration of the sinking of the warship "Canoñero Mariveles" in 1879. It can be found close to the pier where the passenger boats arrive and depart (a few meters... More
