Going to Vigan by car is a trip to do in several days. You can mostly folow the coastline and stay in a resort now and then. Vigan (world Unesco heritage) is typically the south of Spain. It's only a pitty that the buildings are not maintained enough. The place is very typical but you've seen it in two days.... More

It was a whole day journey from Subic to Vigan. We arrived in this historic place around 8 PM. When I stepped off the bus, I couldn't believe what I saw. It was as if I've been transported back in time. The place was very historic. It was well-preserved. It was a place like no other in the Philippines. We... More

It was almost like reliving the Spanish colonial times in Philippines. The pace of this town is leisurely (though not painstakingly slow). We took a calesa (horse driven carriage) to take a tour of the town - cost us 150 pesos per hour, and did not feel cheesy at all! Definitely a nice town to spend 1-2 days in. If... More

Enjoy the calesa ride around the town of Vigan. There are lot of stores along the Mestizo street where the old Spanish houses where located. More

I have been to Vigan last year, it was not my first time to walk around this historic place. Everytime we go to Ilocos Norte, my father's province, we always pass by Vigan. This time we even went to a nearby zoo, Punta Baluarte. This Heritage site preserves the spanish colonial area that our country has been through, not only... More

Vigan is one of the most well restored Spanish colonial cities in Manila, and it deserves its reputation as a UNESCO world heritage site. Unfortunately it can be very difficult to get there, even for people within the Philippines, as it has no airport capable of accepting commercial air traffic. The nearest airport is laoag city, which is an one... More
