Belitung Island become famous destination since "Rainbow Trops" or Laskar Pelangi film launched few years ago. In 2014, international hotel (Aston), has been opened for public, so I went to Belitung on March 2014 and stay at Aston. We started the trip on Friday morning and back to Jakarta on Sunday evening. It's enough for 3 days to enjoy Belitung,... More

with 50 minutes direct flight from Jakarta, Belitung is easy to reach. You can rent a car + driver to take you anywhere you want to, only about Rp. 550.000. No traffic jam there so it's easy to arrange itinerary. Place you should visit : Kepayang Island, Lengkuas Island, Laskar Pelangi Island and if you're into literature, Museum Andrea Hirata... More

The beaches north of Tanjung Pandan and the islands in the harbour have some of the best beaches - with fine white sand and crystal clear waters. A perfect paradise....but hurry, before it gets polluted.

Inspired by a novel of “Rainbow troops” a.k.a “Laskar Pelangi”, I kept my obsession to trace the mentioned places in the novel someday. I have gone to Sorbonne-Paris in 2011 and felt the nostalgic memories of the author. There are some places else to visit, but it must be interesting to see the place where such a story began, Belitong.... More

“There’s always gold by the end of a rainbow…”, in real life this proverbial is similarly the same with this island and luckily it has something more beautifully unusual and deeper meaning than just gold, you’ll see it instantly the first moment you step on this beautiful island, it's just amazing…
