The cooking class was great. Going to the market was defenitely an added value, so take the class in the morning. The teacher was fun and patient. The price was kind of expensive (170.000 RM) which made it seem uncertain that a good portion of the money goes to the staff organizing it. Also the cook book is ViaVia branded... More

I visited the Via Via Cafe several times as it was the perfect place to unwind after a long walk through Jogja's cultural sites. It is a place that has everything I would seek at a travel hub : a bakery (bagels, granola bars, wheat bread - all home made and organic!), a cafe/restaurant that feature a fusion of local/western... We booked a cycling tour via Yogyakarta.nl and yes we really liked the tour. Our guide was really nice, the tour is good to get an impression of the real Indonesian culture, we think you should do this. Furthermore, the price is only €9 per person! We would absolutely give this tour 4-5 stars on Tripadvisor. However, since we booked... More

Bu Made is so wonderful! I enjoyed thoroughly the cooking class and the trip to the traditional market. We made tempe & tahu bacem, terong balado and basil chicken. I love every second of it and will do it again for a different menu! I highly recommend this cooking class if you really want to learn the true indonesian experience!... More

We took two tours with Via Via during our stay in Jogja: the village bicycle tour and the hidden temple motorbike tour. Tina was our (outstanding) guide for the bike tour through farmland south of the city. The excursion was a relaxing ride through rice fields and small communities, a great opportunity to see rural Javanese everyday life close up.... More

We did the Culinary tour for my boyfriend's birthday. To be honest I think most of the tours ViaVia has on offer are a little overpriced as you can plan them by yourself (e.g. for the Prambanan temple take bus 1A that leaves every 15 mins form Malioboro street. It will take you to the temple in approx. 45 mins... More

I wanted to learn about the flavors of Indonesia and happened upon the ViaVia-Jogja Cooking class on the Internet. It included a visit to a traditional market to purchase ingredients, student involved cooking, and a lunch for a reasonable price (160,000IDR pp). The class was held in the morning from 9:00-1:00. Hubby and I jumped at the chance to join... More
