This people take their job very serious. They have a wide range of things to do, prices are good, brochure is very clear and staff very helpfull and friendly. So we have not only Belgian beer and Belgian chocolats, but also ViaVia!

I wanted to learn about the flavors of Indonesia and happened upon the ViaVia-Jogja Cooking class on the Internet. It included a visit to a traditional market to purchase ingredients, student involved cooking, and a lunch for a reasonable price (160,000IDR pp). The class was held in the morning from 9:00-1:00. Hubby and I jumped at the chance to join... More

Went on the batic course today as my girlfriend wanted to do it. I am no artist and was hardly thrilled by the prospect of the days activities, however, it was exceptional. The course had amazing staff and for the price was exceptional value for money. A real different experience of Indonesia from Borobodur, beaches and volcanoes. Thoroughly recommend this.

We went on The village cycling tour with 3 other persons. The tour started at 8 am and ended at 12. During the tour we stopped at some local 'factories'. We also stopped at the rice fields and were able to plant some rice ourselves. The guide was very friendly and provided a good explanation on our stops. The tour... More

I wrote them on Sunday night, no reply. I wrote again on Monday morning, no reply. I wrote again Monday afternoon. Within 20 hours I wrote 3 times. All I got was a lousy reply that they were full. What a big failure!

I've been traveling for 1 year and to find a conscious tourism option is almost a miraculous, seriously, I go very deep in the cities to find them. I mean conscious by the way they respect all the workers involved, pay them correctly with benefits like insurance, preserve the community and also with a very fair price for us. Did... More

I was excited upon finding Yoga class in Yogyakarta. But the class in ViaVia, at least the one I attended was a big disappointment, the staff was not attentive and the yoga mat was dirty (and very bad smell) and the teacher was giving command while sitting and closing her eyes! I attended Friday morning class, maybe it will be... More

Made organised a fun, instructive and most of all tasty cooking session for our family ( with 2 kids who cooked as well). She made it very personal, told us lots of stories, accommodated our requests and wishes. It was much more than cooking, it was a beautiful opportunity to get close to local life and culture. My only advise:... More

We did the culinary tour on motorbikes. We really wanted to try the local food but were a bit unsure of the hygiene at a lot of the places. The guides took us to places that were both delicious AND clean. Ask to try Murtabak (a kind of large crumpet).

Took an evening indo cooking class with Made through Viavia. Overall good experience, would do again. Pros: - class of 4 people upstairs in a private kitchen makes for good interactions - you get to pick the menu - end up with a large meal - Made does a great job walking you through indo food basics (uses of spices/herbs,...
