When we visited this private museum, it was raining, so the mystical environment became so pronounced. The paintings, photos collections are entrancing. The garden and setting among each room are well placed. The staff is friendly. Good place to learn about Kraton Solo descendants and part history. Recommended to go while visiting Yogya

Love the collection of paintings, guide is very knowledgeable and friendly. forget about taking pics with your camera, and give full attention to the guide (she can be snappy if she caught you browsing your phone / not giving 100% attention!) Greatly appreciate for the works they have done to keep the history and artifacts. Certainly will come back again!

Really love to hear the guide explain the history about Mataram Kingdom, with the lovely museum with the paintings, photos and statue.

Okay, so I gave this a "4" because the tour guides are very professional, the place is cute, and the entrance fee is small. But are the exhibits really impressive? No, they are not earth-shaking. Basically it is a history of the Jogja and Solo sultans (and sultanas). Photos, paintings, fancy batik, and also gamelan exhibits. Set in picturesque surroundings.... More

My teens, who groan at the suggestion of any museum visit, were sufficiently entertained. A tour (in clear spoken English, yes!) is included in the ticket price (IDR50k adults, IDR30k children up to age 16), as is a delightful ginger drink midway through the tour. Although the focus was on Javanese royalty, it provided a useful insight into other aspects... More

Though there was no public transporation means go directly to this museum, it was worth to take a taxi to visit this musuem. After following the guided tour, I know a lot about the history of the Yogyakarta Kingdom in the past and its culture. I also like the exhibits here. We should clap hands to the owner of this... I was totally satisfied with the host who explained to us all about the museum and very friendly in telling all the story behind all items available in the museum. I would give an applause to the management who has successfully made me had such pleasant visit.
