I heard this museum from a friend and I love this museum. They have the guide to take us around the museum and explain everything about the culture and Keraton. The place is clean. The only minus point is the time that given just too short meanwhile the guide speak too fast.

Nice place to visit to increase your knowledge, but the admission is too expensive (Rp 30 k for 1 pax) for just about 20 minutes tour surrounding the area

This museum gives you an insight of how the Javanese culture grow and prosper in Jogjakarta. The royal monarchy history is very special and interesting. Our guide was very informative; from the hierarchy to the history even to the fabric worn by the royals. This has made the place even more special because in a way, she made us went... More

After reading great reviews we decided to visit the place. The guide was great and we learnt a lot about the history of royals, however after the tour of historical photo museum we were expecting a stroll in the supposedly enchanted gardens. Guess what? We were not allowed access looked forward to meditating in delightful gardens and all we saw... More

A worth place to visit since you will get a touch of Javanese tradition and stories behind the royal family. They keep improving their museum with adding several sections in the future. That's why I really want to go back there again next time.

there are many historical story and things in there. from Yogyakarta palace and Surakarta palace. I've been there for 2 times. but you can't take picture in everywhere. they only have some spot to take a picture. it's really nice place to visit, only 40 minutes from Yogyakarta by car (depends on traffic)

It was extremely interesting to listen to the local guide who was very knowledgeable, engaging and had a good command of English. The museum itself is clean and well-looked after. It looks like it is constantly improving, which is great! There is a restaurant where you can have a nice European meal. The price is higher than average, but I... More

Unlike other museums in Indonesia (mostly state owned), this one is professionally managed. It has ticket booth, guides, group by group presentation, souvenir shop, rules to obey, and well maintained. You will love this one. The collections, yes mostly they show photos and paintings. It has some sculpture and gamelan (music) instrument But, whatever the stuff, the most interesting is... More

This takes a bit more interest in Yogya kings than we had to really enjoy the guided tour leaders comments

This really is a truly splendid place. Its about an hour outside of Yogakarta so hire a car and driver to take you there but gosh its worth it. Its a private museum in a truly fascinating construction consisting of passages single rooms, underground and overground buildings set in the jungle and the foothills of the mountain. Its a really...
