Entrance was not free but it was all worth it. There was a tour guide who will explain to you all the way from the beginning to the end. It was very educative and we receive heaps of knowledge. I would recommend you to visit this place.

This museum shows their private collection, photos, more like gallery. The layout was great, there are several buildings. You will be accompanied with translator. Some of the rooms were prohibited to take photos. Sometimes you can feel mystical aura in certain side. They also has mini restaurant above this museum. This place is worthed to visit if you also go to others... More

I was lead to believe the museum was a glimpse into the daily lives of the natives of Jogjakarta. In reality, what I was shown was a dedication to the "greatness" of the royal families of Yogyakarta and Surakarta. The guide was pleasant, but her English wasn't strong enough to really explain the purpose of the museum or why I... More

The Solo family palace turned museum. It is a charming estate full of antiques and pictures of the royal family. The tour was interesting, but felt a bit rushed, lasting around 40 minutes, and we weren't able to walk around by ourselves. Given it's very high rating on tripadvisor I was a little disappointed. It would be worth doing if... More

Worth the small entry fee and the time to go through this interesting collection on a guided tour. Our guide was English speaking, very good command of the language but speaking a bit too fast to easily comprehend through the accent, but interesting and knowledgeable none the less.

This museum is so far out and away from downtown Yogyakarta! But if you manage to find the transport to go it will be well worth the time and money (not really expensive ticket, only Rp50k). Too bad they don't allow for photo-taking within the museum but with the guided tour in 50mins we really learn much of Java's rich... More

I visit here with my friends and so amaze with the decoration and every detail about the culture of java. It's a must visit place for everone who visit Yogyakarta. You'll be guided by the tour guide and they can speak english too. Unfortunately you can't take a photos during the tour. The last tour is at 16.00/04.00 p.m.

You will be guided throughout the museum, they are well informed. The potraits and museum displays were well maintained. but above all the garden and the museum surroundings is remarkable. Go there if you have a couple of hours to spare before the Merapi trip as it is located very close to the Merapi 4wd tour area.

Thank zalss
