Once you reached the vicinity, you'll pay about 300,000 IDR for a 2-hour trail ride using a 4WD jeep. The driver will bring you to a small museum, showing a few things from the last eruption. The driver will also bring you to some good locations for photo-ops. The only problem is that most of the locals that you will... More

We absolutely enjoyed the rough Jeep safari at the Merapi. This to be combined with a bit of history about the vulcano made the visit worthwhile. Must say that seeing the effect of the last eruption was quite impressive. You see with your own eyes how nature can destroy.

The view of the mountain is simply amazing. We took a 1,5 hour Jeep tour and it was well worth the money. They have several other "stops" during the tour but those were not so interesting.

Fun to ride in a jeep but nothing spectacular. The volcano is often covered by clouds (as mountains often are). Interesting to see what's left of the villages after the last disaster. We enjoyed it mostly as a different activity after all the temples.

The volcano surrounding view is marred by looming clouds. Not to mention the exorbitant fee (IDR300k) for the jeep ride, which last less than an hour & brings you to ravaged locations brought by the aftermath of the last eruption.1 saving grace was the jeep driver tried his best to explain each location. Overall, quite mediocre in my opinion. A word... More

With Rp. 300.000 you can rent a 3-hour jeep tour around the slope of Merapi. Seeing the ruins of Mt. Merapi eruptions, you will feel thrilled to imagine what has happened when the disaster came. Our Indonesian language course, Alam Bahasa has a memorable trip with our students this past few days. It was really wonderful. We love it :-)

A good means to admire the volcano. Do not hesitate; the driver could not speak very well english, but made a lot of efforts to explain the locations.

A beautiful mountain with lots of greenery even when it is so active. Shame about the clouds. The museum is very informative.

If you reach Pasar Bubrah or It's Peak before 5 AM simply you will see the magnificent sunrise. For me it's the best sunrise i ever seen from my summit experience in some volcanoes mountain in Indonesia. Visited the volcano last 13 August 2014

We walked up the summit amazing trek. We hired our own car and driver only cost 600000rps well worth it. We started at 5am and was up the top by 8am. You probably don't even need a quide quite easy without it. But guides were cheap anyway. Defiantly recommend leaving yoghkarta at a later time as all other tours only... More
