Went to Merapi not expecting to get too close and ended up about 4Kms from the peak (as per the guide / driver) and we were fortunate enough to have clear view in afternoon which was fantastic. The Jeep ride is fun all the same and is interesting to see the awe of Lava flow and how much is below... More

what an adventurous trip i ever had! ride to Merapi Volcano by Jeep. It's an awesome feeling. You just paid for IDR350,000 per jeep max to 5 person to Merapi Tour. Visit their museum as well.

Been here on end of January. The weather was really cloudy even at 9-10am. Didnt get the nice view of Merapi. Quite disappointing. Probably it was because of rainy season. I took the 4WD jeep paid Rp350k for 1 jeep max 5 persons. The ride was rough, the way to the bunker was terribly shaking but thats the whole point... More

Imagine high mountains, cold weather above, steep ride, fun adventure, and historical sites. Mount Merapi offers it all. If you go here, you ought to drop by the jeep adventure centre and take a ride towards the volcano by that. The experience is fulfilling for your adventurous mind. Prior to the volcano, the jeep driver who also acts as the... More

Aprox 1h from city by car, after need to change to jeep cuz road super bumpy (costs pretty expensive 550k for long trip) destroyed by erruption in 2010. Whole trip with jeep 3hr, 5 stops to take pics and stroll around. It was fun to jump in the car and scenery near mountain was nice, but not stunning.

The road leading to Merapi is very beautiful with greenery on both sides and offers glimpses into the Volcano from several points. For the adventure seekers a trip inside a recently active Volcano is ideal. The jeep tour can be booked both from Yogyakarta or at the basecamp near the Volcano. If you are travelling solo, a motorbike tour is... More

When you are going to merapi, you should take the lava tour.. it'll cost you about $35 per jeep (maximum 5 person). You will see the dead village in your tour. This dead village caused by merapi erruption. More than that, you can go to a bunker which only 1-2 km from the main crater. If you're lucky, you can... More

I love this trip with the Jeep . If you are going up , evening time is the best and must take the jeep. The cost for the jeep is IDR450,000 for 4 pax. The road is bumpy but the trip is really worth it. We used a private driver Wishnu. He is very friendly and very responsive to all... More
