Gives you an idea of the devastation when nature shows her prowess and destroy creation so easily You feel so tiny and helpless.

Went at morning 8 AM, one jeep come and pick us. This Jeep could take 4 persons. The weather is nice but bit cold, I suggest you take your jacket. The road is badly rocky and pat holes everywhere, causing you feel uncomfortable sitting in the jeep, but the great view could compensate it.. Cost for 1 jeep is about... More

Our driver took us to a 4x4 jeep tour which was an unforgettable experience! Travel the rocky road and make your way up one of the worlds most active volcanoes! Awesome experience that lasts for about 40 mins. Interesting to see the results of the 2010 eruption, and learn about just how many people still continue to live on the... More

Went there with 3 Finnish tourists from my hostel. Arrived the area, you are required to rent a jeep (the cost depends on the package you choose). You get the chance to see the whole volcano area. The Merapi Museum definitely a must visit.

Did the night walk to the top of the volcano. It was a tough walk, but if you dont like that I suppose you wont do this kind of trip. I was with a group of about 7 people who were all well prepared. I was not and I was happy that I could use a jacked of one of... More

An active volcano with lots of history to it. Including the recent eruption back in 2010. A must visit to add to your experience.

i am pretty sure this trip is a must on the to-do list when visiting Jogja but because the weather did not play along with us on the day we went, my experience was only average. It was raining pretty much the whole day so there was slush and mud everywhere. Our jeep driver was great but holding on to... More
