We are amazed on how such powerful mountain still active and the city of Yogyakarta is very close to it. I can picture myself being in the midst of it of what happened during the eruption 5 years ago

We went there after seeing Borobudur and took one of the jeep tour (1 hour). Tour consisted on several stops which included a house-museum showing the devastating effect of the lava and eruptions from the volcano, some big rocks and panoramic and scenery stops to take pictures. Interesting visit, beware of the burning sun and also take into account that... More

Merapi volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. The latest biggest eruption was in 2010 which caused a huge damage. Yet, the volcano is very challenging to hike up. The only safest path is from the northside, Selo village. For the beginner, you must prepare yourself, means making sure your condition is fit. I started climbing at... More

We were visit a house which hit by the eruption of Merapi on 2010. We can see some household, motorbike and even cow skeleton there. Next... More

Great ride up and down the volcanic slopes. This is an additional cost at about Rp 350,000 + Rp 50,000 (Tip) - well worth it!! It is a bumpy ride - so if you have a weak back / any form of back trouble - please avoid.
