wow .....Merapi

We enjoyed the trip and the trekking on the mountain. The interesting part was to see soil in some parts still burning and bass coming out. Must see

We take the Jeep off road tour. It is quite exhilarating for our teenage children. The off road rides are not real off road, but still fun for our family. Once we reached the bunker outpost, we did some hiking with beautiful view. One of the thing on the must do list when visiting Jogja.

I have been to different volcano in the Philippines like Taal and Mayon. My expectation is just to see it from afar. When we ride the 4wheel drive land cruiser which will bring us to the volcano, the thrill starts. There was the rough ride but safe going to the site amidst the jungle. We went to the sites where... The hardest hike I've ever done so far. I've been to Ijen, Bromo, Batur, Merbabu, but this was the most challenging. It's steep with loose rocks, dust, hard wind, chilly. But the view from the summit of Merapi was amazing. When the sunrise, I could see some other mountains such as Lawu, Sindoro, Sumbing, Dieng, Slamet, and Merbabu was so... More

travel there with my husband. The scenery is breathtaking, but the transportation to go there is quite hard. You can chose to rent a open car roof from the locals, or just rent the motorcycle if you are dare to.

A must see volcano experience in Indonesia...feel the power inside the earth seeping out through steam and heat. Get adventurous and hire a jeep. We did no do the trekking as we had a kid but would love to come back some day.

My friend and I decided to take the sunrise trekking up Merapi Mountain. The hike was challenging. Lots of loose rocks and dusty. Started the climb at 1 am from Selo Village, the hike took us 4 hours. Sunrise is about 5.30 am. It is also very cold and windy, get yourself a good windbreaker! Must be physically fit to... More

a lot of steam came out from the volcano thus made it very cloudy. we only hired a jeep to visit the museum, alien rock and bunker which are 5-7 km away.

Truly an eye opening experience for me. There are so many things to know and learn about the information of the volcanic eruptions there in the past , the survival and preparation of the village folks, unique type of flora species and many more. Get your feet down, meet the locals, talk to them, see their mini museums and talk... More

We didn't expect to tour Merapi Volcano as it was not part of our itinerary. This trip is not the hiking or trekking up to the peak of Merapi Volcano but, rather a jeep tour to the nearest area of Merapi Volcano. We took the shortest time of jeep package of 1 hour tour which cost us Rp,350,000 per jeep.... More
