An ancient building that is well preserved. THe history of the house itself was quite a story. The place was a good place for taking pictures of old buildings. They were also connected to convenience store and a well known hotel. That made the place conveniet for tourists.

Went to the Novotel Hotel Gajah Mada for business meeting, found that the hotel was built around the old Candra Naya building. It was house of Chinese major (community leader) of Batavia during Dutch times. Built in traditional Chinese architecture, it is now mostly empty except for the O La La Cafe in one of the side buildings. More displays... More

I was originally headed to the 7/11 store nearby then an oddly placed building, one with an architecture feature from distant past, surrounded exactly by modern skyscrapers. It has some cafe's that I haven't had the chance to try on the sides, a pond filled with colorful fishes right behind it, and a little mixture of a mini museum and... More

Small Chinese temple, worth seeing if you are around, the location and the way it is made is nice, but nothing special about the place

The house was well taken care for and you can see how the rich chinese live in the old days but unfortunately there are no guides and no furniture, just a big old building.

Old Town has many old-style buildings and shops that shown you the past and glorious time in Jakarta. This is one from the Chinese past time and locks like a temple from the outside, inside however its a house with empty halls. It is closed by new main buildings. Nothing to say more.

A complex of house belonged to chinese major general in the 18th century. Looks like a temple from the outside, inside however its a house with empty halls on both sides and the main building. Too bad this heritage could have been made better known if it was more obvious from the outside.
