when i arrived , i saw trash everywhere , souvenir seller in almost every corner also under a tree. no security (only a view security in entrance gate and they look bored or tired) . some local kids also rent a mini motor bike and speeding around the area, so annoying and not save. the queue to get inside monas... This national monument is set in at the centre in a large square of a park which is about 1 square mile . No private cars or bicycles are allowed in so you have to walk through one of the eight iron gates to reach the entrance which is hidden off to the side. The fee is 15,000 (£0.80). The... More

it is the historical plus famous icon of Jakarta city. you can get to the highest floor and view the city right from the heart of the city.

i visit this when i was a little for a study tour. We can see view the city from up here....It's nice though....:)

this monument is Jakarta's city landmark, but pity...super unprganised rubbish in all places unbehave people/visitors horses' poops smell everywhere be careful with criminals, especially pickpocket

but this is Jakarta, where there is little to visit as a tourist, and so a big phallus symbol in the middle of an open space is one of the few attractions Jakarta has. This monument is a nice structure in a really large parkland (for Jakarta). My issue with this attraction is it could be so much more. Our 'cultural' expedition to visit MONAS was a disaster... Yes it was hot, but there had been a festival the day prior and the grounds were COVERED in rubbish, rotting smelling rubbish, it had also rained so the ground was sludge...
