I was recommended to see Monas while on a quick business trip. And it's interesting enough to try. I visited Monas on a super hot afternoon. It's grand, beautifully painted in white and gold. It's good to take pictures from the outside and walk around the tower. It has some green parks surrounding it and local vendors selling souvenirs and... More

As local, i never been to this historic site until i decided to bring my 9-year-old-son to learn about national history first hand. The ticket counter closed at 13.45pm which was surprising. Not to mention the super crowd which I should have anticipated, afterall it is the student holiday. Maybe i will come again in early morning during weekdays next... More

From far, you could think this is Jakarta's main touristic attraction. Upon closer inspection, the building is actually poorly maintained. At the bottom floor, you'll find beautiful scenes, narrating Indonesia's history from prehistory to independence. But if you don't speak bahasa, all you'll be left with is some poor english translations, that even google translate could rival with. Clearly, international... More

When it comes to the monumento itself it is nothing that interesting. But the place is a good Palace to people watch and to see how Indonesians play, and stroll with their family. Good place to take pictures of kids.
