Nothing from outside but you should go to the top to see a great view to the city. At the basement there's a small "museum" with some dioramas about history of Indonesia.

The monument is at a bus stop, but you have to walk a bit to get to an open entrance to the park. It's in the center of a huge park where you can see people relaxing. In the lower level there are dioramas depicting events in Indonesia's history. Signs are in English, making it a good, brief summary of... More

If you are tired of staying in the hotel, this is a place I would recommend to visit. The monument is tall and beautiful but I would recommend going early if you want to climb up. It is also a good place to look for cheap souvenirs.

You have to line up for their free shuttle that will transport you to the monument. You will then do down... More

If you want to go up to the top of the monument don't go at weekends or holidays, it's mobbed!!! be prepared for a long walk from were you get dropped off by your transport. Also make sure it's a clear day otherwise you will be disappointed with the view.

You don't need to stop by, better spend your time in some museums, shopping malls or joining some locals
