I started today very nervous, but still excited! Originally I was unsure if I would get on the tour as it states a minimum of 2 people, and I am traveling alone, but the guys were more than happy to accommodate! As I was alone and the only participant the guide and his friend met me at my hotel, traveling... More

Summary: This was a remarkable tour with knowledgeable guides, highly recommended for those who want a deeper experience of Jakarta than just “monuments and Kodak moments”. Further, your money goes to local people who have creative and thoughtful ideas for how to help the poor of Jakarta More info: We met at the local Starbucks and took a minivan. Public... More

This has to be one of the most interesting city tours we have taken in the world and what makes it so good is that Jakarta is probably one of the least interesting city in the world ! We were part of a group of cruisers who were looking for a good way to visit Jakarta at an affordable cost... More

My husband and I spent the day with Ronny last Friday. We were driven around throughout the day in a hired van, there was also a young couple from Singapore with us. As well as visiting the usual tourist spots we were taken around to different slum areas. We found it amazing that these people were all so happy and... More

This tour is absolutely one of the most eye opening tours I have ever taken! My tour guides were Parlin and Anneke. They were both incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, consummate professionals, and passionate about Jakarta and caring for the poor!! They have hearts of gold! The tour takes you on both the traditional Jakarta tour destinations, as well as some of... More

The reviews here are pretty spot on, in regards to the experience. I was lucky enough that at the time the guide had rented a van to move some things and local children around. So we got to fit a lot in, normally I think you go around on public transport ... I'll try to address some negative points previously... More

First of all, I can highly recommend this tour, as you see a face of Jakarta that you wouldn't see by exploring the city on your own. Very interesting and impressive. An unique experience. BUT: the expected 'donation' was 500,000 !!! IDR. What is quite a lot, when your think that the people we wisited live with less then 10,000... More

I did this tour in October 2013. Ronnie is an excellent guide who is doing a fantastic job of educating foreign travelers and helping those most in need in Jakarta. I did this tour as a solo female traveler and would highly recommend this tour to anyone who is interested in meeting the warm and friendly residents of Jakarta's impoverished... More
