If this doesn't change your life you don't have a soul. AMAZING EYE OPENING TOUR

If you have access to running water, internet, heating, or the ability to pay the $50USD to take this tour you will leave it a changed person. We took a 3 hour tour that takes... read more

The response from the guides are swift and they are also very accommodating to request and questions. On the tour, they will be bring you around via various mode of local transports and see the way of life in the slums. Its a wake up call to many of us who almost live in a perfect world to see the... If you have access to running water, internet, heating, or the ability to pay the $50USD to take this tour you will leave it a changed person. We took a 3 hour tour that takes you to the absolute grit of the city and you see things and get there by means you would never see without an unconventional tour... More

I must admit that in the first hour or so I was a bit sceptical. We met Annecke in a restaurant near Tamrin Fatahilla and for the first 45 minutes nothing happened. People were ordering food and drinks and I was actually about to leave... But this changed quickly once the tour started and for me this was certainly one... More

While in Jakarta we did one organised tour. At 12 noon we met Ronnie, Anneke and Luther from Jakarta Hidden Tours at Cafe Batavia in Kota (Taman Fatahillah Square). They showed us the highlights of Kota and Sunda Kelapa. In between we visited some poor parts where we met the people living there. It was very impressive to see how... More

You must do this tour if you wants on experience the real Jakarta. Ronny and Annke do a great job of showing you the areas you would never otherwise visit. The families and children are very welcoming and really have very little to live on. You will use several forms of local transport and the locals are intrigued. Take as... More

This tour is very informative. You met local people and their families and get real insight into how they live. The people are welcoming and full of smiles. Various forms of local transport are used which adds to the adventure! Ronny's social enterprise to support these communities is well worth supporting.

I found out about this tour here on Tripadvisor. All the good reviews made me decide to do it even though I had some concerns about how welcoming the locals would really be and if I'd feel uncomfortable. My concerns were absolutely unnecessary. Every person we met during that day were the most welcoming and friendly people I met during... More

I have been on many tours but this is perhaps the best one yet. The tour is not only informative but also helps people in need. It is a very relaxed tour and allows you to really experience not only the local transportation and culture but most importantly, the people. The kids and families I met were wonderful to spend... The hidden Jakarta tour was one of the most amazing experiences of our stay in Indonesia. Besides visiting the already very interesting Mosque and Old Dutch area the slums really made a lasting impression on us. We were a bit hesitant at first to go into the slums but the people there quickly made us feel right at home. What... More

This is a fantastic experience, not just a tour . Combination of history and culture in the city earlier in the day. The afternoon is the visits to the areas which is eye-opening and thought provoking, and certainly a unique experience. We visited 3 areas, one by rail tracks, another by the river and the final one below a bridge.... More
