My husband and I visited Jakarta for a week and started our visit with this tour. I was reminded of how fortunate I was and that I should constantly be thankful for my job and home. The tour guide, Parlin, was amazing and friendly! My husband and I truly enjoyed spending the day with him. We were on the tour... More

This tour provided me an opportunity to see the everyday life of many people living in conditions which I could only imagine. I was touched by the sincerity and generousness of the people I interacted with. Exploring these parts of Jakarta with the tour, I felt that the people we visited were aware that it was a respectful experience which... More

I was keen for a tourist activity in English in Jakarta that didn't involve shopping and this tour was perfect. The tour makes good use of local transport options so you get the full flavour of Jakarta and some good historical bits. The main focus of the tour is the disadvantaged communities of Jakarta. The people you meet are absolutely... More

Loved this tour and learned so much from Ronnie and Anika, but this trip is NOT for everyone. You MUST be prepared for a LOT of walking, especially through some very poor and rough areas. Not for the squeamish by any means. You will take tuk-tuks, bicycle rickshaws, and long boats along with the minivan we took. You meet some... More

Usually public transport would be used but on the day we participated a mini van was used instead. Yet they still arranged the 4 of us to take some of the public transport which not all tourists might use because of poor communication with Indonesian. You would really see very basic and poor people as guided by Ronny, Anneka and... More

My girlfriend and I had a few days in Jarkata and, after swashbuckling our way through the high-fooluten restaurants and marble-floored plazas, wanted to go off the beaten track. This tour provides that experience in spades. Our guide, Parlin, was brilliant, providing historical and cultural insights along the way as we weaved through the vast city. He also made us... More

Can't add much to what is written below. The tour operators, Ronny and Aneke, are informative and gracious people driven by some very strong convictions. You will have the opportunity to meet that warm Indonesian smile persisting under the most trying of conditions.

We gave over one day of our weeks stay in Jakarta to this tour, and we are very glad we did. We met our guide Ronnie in the Starbucks outlet that is part of Plaza Indonesia, where the rich and famous shop. We travelled from there in an air-conditioned tourist bus, and then in a normal bus, and then a... More
