I found out about this tour here on Tripadvisor. All the good reviews made me decide to do it even though I had some concerns about how welcoming the locals would really be and if I'd feel uncomfortable. My concerns were absolutely unnecessary. Every person we met during that day were the most welcoming and friendly people I met during... More

I have been on many tours but this is perhaps the best one yet. The tour is not only informative but also helps people in need. It is a very relaxed tour and allows you to really experience not only the local transportation and culture but most importantly, the people. The kids and families I met were wonderful to spend... The hidden Jakarta tour was one of the most amazing experiences of our stay in Indonesia. Besides visiting the already very interesting Mosque and Old Dutch area the slums really made a lasting impression on us. We were a bit hesitant at first to go into the slums but the people there quickly made us feel right at home. What... More

This is a fantastic experience, not just a tour . Combination of history and culture in the city earlier in the day. The afternoon is the visits to the areas which is eye-opening and thought provoking, and certainly a unique experience. We visited 3 areas, one by rail tracks, another by the river and the final one below a bridge.... More

The tour was very impressive, I had a really good time that day. As a person who is interested in exploring the urban spaces, I always seek for a chance to see the 'real' condition of the city. At first, I didn't think that I would be able to reach the deepest layer of Jakarta, but what I experience that... More

While typical tour would bring you to tourist spots, knowing the history and the culture of a city, this brings you to see the other part of the city, understanding their living standard of those mostly flown in from rural area. However, they may represent a huge percentage of the metropolitan population.

This is how it should be spent. You'll see some of the big sites, and drive by all the "important buildings". You'll learn a lot about Jakarta and its history. You'll also see parts of the city that most people will never see. You'll be perfectly safe among very nice people. But you'd never go there on your own. Your... More

I arrived in Jakarta alone and found it a little intimidating. I booked myself on this tour to break my trip up a bit and I am very glad I did. It is worth the money, they really accommodate you. They take you to see the real Jakarta and meet some of the wonderful people that live there. You get... More

As I only had 2 days to see Jakarta I wanted to make the most of it and booked a tour here. When meeting with our very friendly guide Parlin, I knew I made the right choice. He's very knowledgable about the history of Jakarta and really takes the time to explain everything. True said, it's a bit expensive, but... More
