I agree with the other dude... this is the best town in Bali! It's a working little port town, sorta industrial in a way, but a chilled out pace. Loads of places to eat and plenty to look at. The beaches around either bay from the port are smashing! The surrounding area is blessed with the most magnificent lanscape full... More

Great local seafood straight from the boats, world-class snorkeling and scuba, two of the best beaches on the island. Its perfect! Cheap fast boat transfers to Gilis. Live music in a few funky little bars. What more do you need!!! More

This is a great place to base yourself for exploring Bali, it has a great beach just east of the ferry terminal, over the hill, a goat track 15/20 minutes walk. A good range of accomm from $10 to 100US. A lot of through traffic it's the main ferry port. Close to the best diving spots and less touristy than... More

If you are into diving or snorkeling this is a a great place to get away from the rush and bustle... the new road is great too. Locals are friendly (too friendly if you look like you want to buy/rent something... this is Bali after all). Place isnt the cleanest or most hospitable but once you get under the water... More

Take an early morning or late afternoon walk to the northeastern end of the beach, the road forks left uphill to the Bloo Lagoon, take the right hand fork uphill toward Pura Silayukti. it is one of the oldest temples in Bali and while it may be empty, you are equally likely to find a ceremony underway with pilgrims who... We visited Blue Lagoon beach, which is right near the laid back town of Padang Bai, on a day trip. Blue Lagoon has golden sand, water in different shades of blue, some trees for shade, a restaurant and massage sun lounges. There is a basic public change room (no water), and showers you can use if you buy something from... More

Just a really nice village, where there's great beaches (Blue Lagoon and White Sand Beach), great dive opportunities, great restaurants for every budget, great bars and just a really cool place to hang out. It's also the place where you can take the ferry or boat to the Gili Islands or Lombok. The atmosphere is fantastic, so all I can... More

love padang bai, you still really can feel balinese culture here. the white sandy beach, the blue sea, and breathtaking corals view... the best beach in padang bai for me was the bloo lagoon beach.. just walk north from the port/main beach thru the small boulevard.. go uphill, u'll find the bloo lagoon hotel... just go down a bit downhill,...
