This park was so beautiful. When I was there, it was relatively uncrowded and I enjoyed the peaceful walk I was able to take across the various isles. Granted, there's not a lot to do here besides walk and maybe take one of the small boats, but it was a very nice change of pace from the usual hecticness of... More

Xuanwu is a wonderful lake and park to take a stroll in. I think is rivals West Lake in every regard. Each island within the lake is beautifully landscaped. There is a wonderful urban park energy tot he park and there are always people strolling, having picnics, playing instruments, selling knick-knacks, taking pictures, and just generally having a nice time.... Way to turn a beautiful place into a brain-frying noise festival. The place is stunning, but they people everywhere throwing rubbish, ripping up trees, spitting, you name it. Then there's these idiotic cars that shuttle lazy people around the park that constantly beep their horns...and I mean constantly. Try getting a baby to sleep as you walk around a park.... More

We went on a Sunday...Bad idea....Avoid crowds go on weekdays...Chinese families tend to bring the whole family on weekends/holidays and you are overcrowding with them (strollers/ old people/huge bags. After our climbs from the other sites, this is a good place to just sit and relax. Very lovely place to stretch tired legs

The park and lake are great addition to Nanjing. It is a very large space which will require multiple visits for anyone to really see everything. It really is a nice break from the endless city.

This is a very popular park in the centre of Nanjing. On weekends it's very busy with people strolling, having picnics, boating, kite flying. You can also see the husband and wife market where desperate parents try to pair up their offspring. I always enjoy going there. An added bonus is the City wall which you can go up on... More

The lake would be very fun in summer. January, not so much. There are boats that you can rent or larger ones to take you around.
