xuanwumen metro station then walk further . free entrance at the old wall gate. there is mini vans which can you around the lake and 4 small islands at the middle at cost of about 30 yuans. I went there on a Saturday so there were many people spending their time at the park either doing karaoke ,playing music instruments... More

We walked around part of this lake and enjoyed the stroll. We rented a 4-person putt-putt boat for an hour and enjoyed that trip around the lake.

There are so many places to see in Nanjing but the lake is the place for a long long walk and see the city from the water, rent a boat or get some food or gift. You can take so many nice photos around the lake.

If you're familiar with China, this lake is not that exceptional. In my opinion it is like every other big lake in China. Tons of people, tons of activities, and tons of people trying to sell you stuff. If you've been to more than 3 of these such lakes, I'd say you can definitely skip this one. If you have... More

Lovely place to escape the craziness of the city. Some highly entertaining people watching and wedding photoshoots!

Xuanwu Lake is a popular destination in Nanjing. Here you can see and walk on part of the old city wall, walk a 10KM + path around the lake, or even take a boat out on the lake. At the main entrance, there is usually crowds of buses, vendors, and places to buy food, but if you venture in deeper,... More

In the north of Nanjing on the foot of purple mountains you will find the Xuanwu lake. Lots of boats (for hire ) and families picnicking or relaxing near the water. The lake is surrounded with the historical wall which gives you some impressions of old times. We entered via Yiming Temple on the wall overlooking the lake. Beautiful views... More

Visited here in November 2012, it is a gigantic mountain with trees and grass. The road isn't as easy to go as the flat road you're used to because it requires lots and lots of walking, evening in November, I was sweating all the way after climbing the mountain after an hour...you can always take the tram over for a... In and around the park there are many different things to see. The park is rather large so expect quite a bit of walking if you want to see it all. There seems to be photogenic sites around every corner. Take your time and enjoy it all.
