Very beautiful because there are 4 lakes, city walls, and lots of walking paths. Take a boat on the lake and consider renting one if the weather is good/you have time.

I was very surprised with how large this lake is. It's beautiful too. Go for a walk/run, you'll really get to know more about Nanjing's people and it's inner beauty. Definitely worth the visit.

Beautiful when weather is nice, walk around it, hire a boat for 60-80 kuais, climb the city Wall that surrounds it and check out the views from there.

Relaxing and calming. This is where the locals go for their strolls. It is relaxing, peaceful and calming. It does not have the same hassle (loud crowds and rubbish) as most parks in Beijing, Shanghai and other first tier cities

So when you come to Nanjing you must come and visit here because it has boats that you can rent out so that you can go out onto the water and relax while you enjoy the sun.

Great view of natural scenery, ancient city wall and modern city landscape. Stroll through lakeside and enjoy the ambience. Close to subway station and have two exits which lead to different tourist sites.

Xuanwu Lake can get really crowded on the weekends, so be prepared for crowds. It's easy to access by subway. Harder on weekends by car - parking can be difficult. My kids love the lake. You can rent boats, or even just walk around. There are plenty of some rock formations to climb around on. It's quite large. I've been... More

This was an amazing park. A nicely paved road goes around the lake and is perfect for walking or jogging. Lots of vegetation and small bridges. Best to go earlier in the day to avoid crowds. 7am was a great time to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Highly recommend it.

This park was so beautiful. When I was there, it was relatively uncrowded and I enjoyed the peaceful walk I was able to take across the various isles. Granted, there's not a lot to do here besides walk and maybe take one of the small boats, but it was a very nice change of pace from the usual hecticness of... More
