If you like horse racing, Sha Tin is a must. We went on a Sunday afternoon. You take the MTR, which stops right outside the course on race days. Entrance is 10HK$ but if you are a tourist with a passport, entrance is free (we didn't have our passports with us, but we still got in for free). The course... more

I had the extreme pleasure of going to the races at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, January 27/08! Having worked as a trainer/assistant trainer/groom in the thoroughbred racing industry in North America for about 25 years it was a thrill for me to go to the races in Hong Kong! I'm sure that I'll never see a more beautiful racetrack... more

We arrived at Shatin only to find that kids under 18 were not allowed - not that we frequently bring our kids to racetracks, but my husband grew up around race horses and tries to see races in whatever country we are visiting.
