Lunch with my wife we had forgotten to bring our own drinks. Purchased two GLASSES of Diet Coke (not even a full can in each glass) - total cost HKD$80 (USD$10.31) INSANE! NEVER AGAIN! RED that is daylight robbery!

So yes this place does have an amazing view IF it is not raining, but other than the outside seating area there is not much to it. You can get better drinks and better atmosphere somewhere else. Just not my type of place.

I came here with a friend at the start of a night out. There are decent views out over Hong Kong harbour, but the bar somehow lacks soul. It's fine as a place to meet and to have the first drink at, but I probably wouldn't have wanted to stay any longer.

If you want a place to meet people before a night out for a BYOB pregame, it's unbeatable with a good view and a relaxed atmosphere. Other than that, however, it's not much. If you want a really good view of the skyline there are better rooftop bars, but it's hard to find space for a large group of people... More

This bar has good views and a mix of tourists and office staff from the surrounding financial offices. It's in a public area so it does not have the atmosphere of the better, higher up and more expensive rooftop bars. However, it's a very pleasant place to enjoy a few drinks early evening. Paulaner draught beer is only 62 HKD... More

This is a good choice restaurant for lunch if you are on the IFC mall area. The restaurant has tables inside and outside so you can enjoy the views weather permitting. Plenty of tables inside. Nice deco, pleasant athmosphere, the lunch menu is is lovely, about 8 or 10 dishes to choose from, all tasty, well cooked and nicely presented.... More

This place has great outdoor views of the water across to the mainland, but here's the secret - the seating is public so feel free to bring your own picnic and take in the views!

I met family at the Red Bar. We ate outside. It was a little hot for me, so would have preferred to go inside. We ordered food at the bar and got a little disc thing that beeped when it was ready. I had calamari and also a kale, nut and avocado salad, and they were excellent. So I think... More

Staying in Central

Neighborhood Profile
When people think of Hong Kong, most imagine movies with famous skyscrapers dominating the skyline. The area widely known as Central is the major financial hub and entertainment district, which truly lives up to the saying, “work hard, play hard.” Bars stay open late into the night and there just happens to be a street party every weekend. Although everything seems to be operating at lightning speed, Central is full of quiet, hidden gems. Nestled between office towers are wet markets and some of the city’s oldest restaurants dating back to the 1960s. Feeling a bit overwhelmed? Retreat from the crowds by exploring beautifully restored historical buildings and even a green oasis of botanical gardens.
