I have hiked a majority of Hk's extensive trails, this is my favorite. The views are unmatched. The level of difficulty varies on different sections. Worth doing.

This trail was great as we walked up it at 4am on Christmas Day for the sunrise. On the way up, there is a Wisdom Trail that is extremely interesting and the bushland and mountain views are great. However the views at the very top aren't the best in the world, going up for the sunrise is an awesome experiencing... More

I've recently run/hike two sections of the Lantau trail. Section two and three of this 12-sections trail are very scenic and bring you up and down two of the tallest mountains on the island. A lot of opportunities for expansive and panoramic views. Do read up on the various sections before hiking because they vary a great deal, from pavement... More

We have walked three stages of the Lantau trail (there are 12). So far we have taken the easiest hikes, and these are perfect for our 5 year old. They cover a distance between 5 and 8km, over beautiful countryside. My favourite (so far) has been from Shek Pik (reservoir) to Shui Hau. This mainly runs along the coast, with... More

This is a fairly difficult hike. It is well maintained but it is basically a 3 mile ladder! Lots of steps. Beautiful views from the top give you your payoff.

The phoenix trail is one of the best and famous place to watch sunrise in Hong Kong. Normally you will start at 0:00 mid-night at Tung Chung MTR station. Get prepared at the 7-11 there then take a taxi to the starting point. You will have to walk in darkness with torch for 3 hours and get to the top... More

I walked the Lantau trail from Discovery Bay to Mui Wo pier via the Trappist Monastery. The walk is not for the unfit. There are many many sets of stairs, however it is quite rewarding, especially when one reaches the top of an unnamed peak halfway from the monastery to Mui Wo.

Took ferry from Central pier and then bus from Mui Wo to start point. Did section 2 of the Lantau Trail from Mui Wo to Tung Chung. I must say one has to be relatively fit to do this 6km trek as it is not flat at all! The going down part really killed both my knees as it was... More
