I did the hike from Ngong Ching up Lantau Peak and down to the road on the other side. It was amazing. Taxing ascent (requiring decent fitness and loads of water), absolutely stunning views at the top, and lovely, gradual descent as you walk down the beautiful ridge line. And, as always in Hong Kong, the paths are well maintained,... More

It's without a doubt that it was a great sense of accomplishment- having lumbered up lackadaisically on those deceitful steps, and back down the other way. The sugary satisfaction of having 'work' for it, and finally arriving at the most talked about bronze Buddha statue in Hong Kong. It's a feeling that only one word can sum it all- Pride.... More

This is a path that runs from Tung Chung all the way to big Buddha it is roughly a 4-5hour walk up and down various other peaks till you get to Buddha, if you want to do this trail you should be physically fit and take plenty of water. The trail runs through a lot of forestry but once you... More

This simple little hiking trail is fantastic, very doable even for the amateur trekker and is an easy going walk around lantau island. most people tend to bike around so the hiking trail doesnt get too busy which is a great thing!

A nice trail which gives beautiful views over the island and the sea. Enjoy some of the more remote areas in Hong Kong and end up with a nice drink and meal in one of the small harbour seafood restaurants.

Lantau trail is excellent if you just want to get away from the city bustle, and different from the other trails on HK Island and New Territories in that you don't see buildings for most of it. There are some very demanding parts, like Sunset and Lantau peaks (up to 900+ meters!) however there are gently sloping trails as well.... More

Starting with the island to all the attractions, everything is manmade but nevertheless, quite good.

Tried the Lantau peak trail 3 for first time Some info to share: From Tung Chung bus terminal took Bus 3M to 伯公坳(Pak Kung Au). Octopus card is ok to use. As a guru here had advised, cash can be used (to save some $) for this partial trip to Pak Kung Au bus stop which is 10-15 mins away... More

I was staying at La Vista and took a walk along the Discovery Bay Mui Wo section of the Lantau Trail. It is absolutely stunning. You meander through squatter villages and admire the humble seaside lifestyle. Then you climb into the hills and follow posts of Christian symbolism to the Trappist Haven Monastery. I visited the chapel and sat in... More
