This is a great way to enjoy an evening in Hong Kong. Horse racing, lots of people, betting and food. If haven't ever been to the races, do it once. You can be right on the track if you want, or go all the way in the stands or get fancy seating inside the restaurant.

Bring money and good luck!! Venue is clean and safe. A little hard to get to due to Occupy HK kids but plan accordingly. Many food opportunities - tried several and all were good.

Brilliant fun on the first day of the racing season. Great atmosphere, amazing track surrounded by high rise buildings give the place a surreal buzz.

Loved the atmosphere, was taken to VIP area and it is nice and comfortable. The buffet is affordable ~$40 CAD and delicious with a variety of options. By the time you place your bet, you have enough time to watch the race and cash out whenever you want. Efficient staff.

We saw the lights on Wednesday night but I was surprised there was no fee to get in. Turns out that they were just showing racing on the big screen. Not sure why as normally meetings are on Wednesday. Anyway...I was able to see the course surrounded by the Hong Kong buildings which is spectacular.

I have been to many Racecourses and this by far is the biggest, cleanest that I have seen it. It has a tennis course, soccor field and more in the center. Our friend too us here and we were amazed that minutes before we were in between high rises and suddenly this HUGE Racecourse! It was so much fun, a... More

In Australia we can take kids to the races!! We have a 19 and 14 year old and we were so excited to go to Happy Valley. Got frocked up and ventured in a taxi (20 mins each way) only to be turned away as no kids allowed!! Guttered!! Absolutely ridiculous.
