okay horse racing isnt every ones cup of tea and certainly isnt mine. this is a pretty good museum tho and is interesting enough for the old photos of the area and shatin before the mass development bounded in on the areas. the museum also gives you a view of the track at the exit of the turn. there is... Exciting place to be on a Wednesday night: Thoroughbred horse racing, fine dining, beer garden if you want to stay casual. The horses gallop very close to you. you can hear the sound of their hooves, thrilling! and you can bet and make money too!

Great night for not serious gamblers - the alcohol and food tents are great in the public area. No need to go into the paid areas as they really are nothing more, everything you need is in the main area! Definitely the more commercial of the two racecourses available in Hong Kong. The Happy Valley Racecourse definitely caters more to... More

Used a tram to get therel next to jockey club. Note taxi drivers do not want to know getting there but plentiful coming out. Fantastic atmosphere, tourists pay 10 dollars to get in. Food drink plentiful, place a bit tired but atmosphere great especially under floodlight.

What a great night out if in Hong Kong on a Wednesday don't miss it. For $10HK (you can use Octopus card) you can spend a very pleasant evening at the racers. If you would like to place a bet there are plenty of people to show you how. The food was reasonably priced and tasty. The atmosphere is fantastic.... More

We did the tourist option in the members, I would not do this again. It did lack a little ambiance. We found a spot on a terrace and watched from there. The night racing with the skyline is beautiful. I would go again

We booked a table in one of the hospitality lounges. The food was served buffet style and was very good. Drinks in the bar were a little pricey but ok. I would definitely recommend a visit if you have the time.

Staying in Wan Chai / Causeway Bay

Neighborhood Profile
Wan Chai / Causeway Bay
Wan Chai and Causeway Bay are the retail centers of Hong Kong Island. Filled with shops, malls and restaurants, both areas are bustling with people – tourists and locals alike. Causeway Bay has one of the highest rents on the planet, and is a bit more polished and modern than its Wan Chai counterpart. Beneath the surface there is more than meets the eye – find boutique stores in the above ground floors of buildings and wander into side streets to find interesting restaurants and shops tucked away from the main roads. Wan Chai especially has experienced a modern revival in recent times, with an influx of trendy restaurants and bars around the Star Street area. In addition, both areas contain many of Hong Kong’s iconic tourist attractions worthy of your visit.
