Well its a tram ride from the Admiralty at the harbour of about 25 mins. Unfortunately there was no racing when I was there but if you could get to be there when the races are on it would be amazing. Apparently if you show a British passport you can go into the special members area free of charge. Even... More

We visited Hong Kong in September 2015 and were lucky enough to attend the first night racing eventof the current calendar. What a fabulous experience. We chose to go as part of a group which we met at The Peninsula Hotel Kowloon. The cost was about $200 AUD per person but was certainly worth it. We were taken by air... More

Went to the Wednesday night races. Had a great night out found someone to help me fill the form out this is the only trouble I had but got used to it. There is a lot to choose from in the food and drink department . Great night out and about

We went to the races at Happy Valley on the evening of the 3rd February. Admittedly, it was just coming up to the Chinese New Year, but the atmosphere was amazing - there was a live rock band, lion dancers, entertainment and loads and loads of excited punters. Add to that that the back drop to the race course is... More

The crowd resembles that at an English Point-to-Point. Casual and for the expats a roving cocktail party. The backdrop of the skyscrapers is amazing and the atmosphere amazing - a must see!

It's strange to think of gambling as a cheap night out, but it applies here. I wish we'd gone on a night with better weather. They race most Wednesday nights (I think are off in the height of the summer). You pay HKD10 for an unreserved spot, then just hang out outside and drink beer and watch the horses. You... More

Open 7.00pm nearly every Tuesday night only, weather you bet or not the location and atmosphere is fantastic, the rain didn't even send us home. Best way to get there is by the fantastic trams (slower of course) or bus or taxi all very cheap.

I'm not a gambler so this was probably never going to top my list of must sees in HK. That said, you can see numerous races in a short period of time. We stayed for about three races, which was fun. The horses come out in the general admission area to parade around before the race, which is a great... More
