Costs about $30 HK using Octopus Card (get one from MTR station - another must). One queue (Oct 09), straight on in 5 minutes (first tram) and despite not having a constant unobstructed view, steep gradient, good view, a ride in itself, and all part of the experience. Seated and takes about 5 - 10 minutes. Wouldn't miss the tram... more

The Peak Tram has huge lines, about 5 times the price of a taxi to the top, and it is just a 1800s cable car (not an aerial tram) that after standing in a huge line, sweating in the heat, you finally get onboard, and are stuffed in like a sausage. The tram trip takes about 5 minutes, there are... more

This was my 3rd visit to HK, but my first time riding the Peak Tram to the Peak viewing area. It is a bit pricey, but well worth it! We went on a Wed afternoon. There were no lines, and the weather was clear. The steep ride up to the Peak was quite an experience and it takes less than... more

We went up the peak in 98 (wife's grandfather lived up the peak 100 years previously); it was elegant and simple at the top. a large viewing platform was about all there was. Went up in April 09 and discovered the place had turned into a temple of capitalism, commercialism, ostentation, and the viewing platform now cost money. Sure it's... more

The tram is excellent and its safety record is faultless. We paid to go to the Sky Peak viewing platform which was well worth the extra money. The views are stunning and we would highly recommend going at night as it is more impressive with the lights of the city beaming out. We took the tram on our first night... more

Amazing view from the top. we had to queue for about 20 minutes to ride the tram. Had a really good set menu meal at the top. Best of all you can use your octopus card to ride to the top and back. more

The Peak Tram is a great funicular railway, but the experience is marred somewhat by having to pay to access Sky Terrace at the top. Fortunately at 1200 on a Saturday the queues were not long (and non existent coming down at 1435) but at 1445 the wait to ascend would have been 15 to 25 minutes judging by appearances.... more

A very memorable ride to the top the the peak tram. It costs HK$48 to go to the peak tram + Skypass (Need to go up using escalator to have a good view of Hong Kong-A MUST). We have to wait for the long queue before finally reach the top of the peak. Remember to use thick clothes as it... more

I'm really torn as to whether the Peak Tram is worth it. There is often a long queue, particularly after a spell of bad weather and on weekends, but we went on a Thursday on a day as hazy as any other that week and we still had to queue for an hour to get on the tram. Once you... more

YES, go to the peak, its a MUST, but the tram is not. take bus 15 from the ferrys, all the way to the top for $9HK, bus 15c only goes to the tram station. the views from the bus are gorgeous as you wind around the mountain, and even better from atop an A/C double decker bus. we rode... more
