Easy to get to shek o and cheap by bus. Umbrella hirers will collar you but if it isn't busy plenty of shade at the BBQ end, the water quality is ok but not of a high standard, a nice place to get away from the bustle.

Great beach, big waves, plenty of options for food from plenty of restaurants to BBQ on the beach. Connected by bus to town through bus 9 from Shau Kei Wan and different minibus options

Nice to have a BBQ. One of the best locations to go into the water, clear and some waves. Also in winter very warm and decent

Was there on a weekday so not many people, and nice place to spend an afternoon. The facilities are good, have showers and changing room and also restaurants to get some food. Easy to get to using public transportation or a Mini Bus; suggest you take the red bus back as its faster and goes more often. We did do... More

Take the 9 bus (from Shau Kei Wan subway station) et get off at the last stop, you're out of the city in a small beach resort. If it's not too sunny, the beach won't be crowed, but it's well maintained (cloackroom, showers, surveillance team and anything needed) and the view is great. Enjoy the relaxation here. Just don't eat... More

Pick a taxi from central and go to Shek O if you have some free time. The beach is lovely and restaurants a conveniently placed right behind the beach. The sand is yellow and all around are the typical green Hong Konh hills. You can also organize a BBQ if you want! Recommended.

Travelled to Shek O for the first time. Very quiet area, nice beach and small restaurants for inexpensive meals. Used public transport to get there and back to Kowloon. Not familiar with the area, we took the Star ferry to HK. Found out there are no buses from the ferry terminal to Shek O, so took the MTR from Central... More
