This is a nice little village that looks like it's been untouched by the last 50 years. We went there after completing the Dragon's Back trail and it has important attractions like cold drinks, beer and noodles. The people are very friendly towards tourists and a nice little Buddhist temple worth a visit. Bus Number 9 ride back to Shau... More

Take the MTR to Shau Kei Wan, leave by exit A3. Top of the stairs left into the bus station and go to stand 9 and take bus 9 to Shek O. Shek O is a small village with a few bars and restaurants. It's obviously being targeted by the wealthy as a number of the houses have been modernised.... More

We took MTR and then taxi to the Shek O beaches and then took another taxi to an entrance to the famous trail called "Dragon's Back". It was a long trail and for a while we thought we were lost in the wilderness, but actually there was only one road and it was quite safe. The view was fantastic and... More

We took the double decker bus down to Shek O at the south of Hong Kong Island. The bus ride is a bargain at 6.90HKD with rural views over the bays. Shek O is unspoilt by touristy places and remains simple. The beach within the bay is an excellent place to unwind from the frenzy of Hong Kong.

Enjoy a great day at the beach as a break from city sightseeing. Very nice, wide and clean beach with clean water. Easy to get there - MRT Island line to Shau Kei Wan where there is a big buss station. Take Buss no 9 to end station and it's about 5 min walk to the beach. The buss ride... More

If you have the time and / or are living in Hong Kong or visiting for a prolonged period of time you should consider taking the trail from The Peak (on Hong Kong Island) to Shek O on the Southeast tip of the island. This is approximately 25km ride and it will allow you to meet the people of Hong... More

SWIMS research center is allocated in a MARINE RESERVE (海岸保護區) where you are NOT allowed to go into the water and collection anything, it is only for research purpose!!! So please stop regarding there as tourist attraction.

The trip to Shek O beach took us about 30 minutes in a taxi from Wan Chai downtown. The Beach is named after the village itself. The 30 minute drive took us up and down the mountain, and the drive itself was very. One gets the birds eye view of the beach once you cross the mountain and start descending... More

If you have enough of the hustle and bustle of the city visit Shek O for a slice of old style HK. There are no skyscrapers, shopping malls or the constant traffic noise. A great day out for the family, with a beautiful beach and some great restaurants. Highly recommended.
