Description: Go beyond tours. Come with us on a private, personal walking and food...
Go beyond tours. Come with us on a private, personal walking and food experience that gets you inside Hong Kong. Walks by professionals, not tour guides. Just three guests, maximum. There's no other company like us in Hong Kong, and we're proud to be recognized by the Wall Street Journal, USA Today, Time Out, the Luxe Guide and the Chicago Tribune. If your time in Hong Kong is short, why waste a minute on a cookie-cutter group tour? Get personal, and learn about Hong Kong and what makes it tick from award winning professionals, food and travel journalists. We work with you to design a Hong Kong experience that's perfect for you. If you like culture and history, then it's back streets, hidden temples, old Chinese neighborhoods--even a haunted house! If you love Chinese food, then get ready to indulge, because that's our specialty. Hong Kong has tens of thousands of restaurants and noodle shops, but we've located all the best and we're sharing our secrets with you! (We speak and read Cantonese, so no worries about Chinese-only menus.). Whatever your profession or interest, we can craft a program that will give you the useful information and local intelligence you need to feel at home in Asia's most cosmopolitan city. Our director and your host, Daisann McLane, has unparalleled experience in finding and getting to the heart of the world's great places. She's an award winning travel journalist with National Geographic Traveler, and before that spent six years roaming the world as the New York Times' "Frugal Traveler" columnist. She fell in love with Hong Kong: she wants you to fall in love with this great city, too.

Daisann crafted a tour specifically for our interests and we enjoyed every moment of it. She skillfully combines entertaining you with informing you. Experiencing "mom and pop" shops selling HK delicacies and sampling some of the varied and delicious food of HK restaurants gave us immense pleasure. Daisann's visits to two small temples and explanation of the spiritual nature of... More

Our walking tour of HK focused on the history of the city, current social and economic conditions, architecture, and neighborhoods that are representative of the city's history and culture. Daisann is an extremely giving and knowledgeable guide with just the right amount of humor and wit added to ensure that you are paying attention. The tempo of the walk was... More

Daisann was a wonderful host! she was extremely knowledgeable and catered to our needs. She took us to some great spots not just restaurants but other fascinating locations as well. She was willing to take us on a tour even though many places were closed for Chinese New Year. She knew so much about Hong Kong and Chinese history and... More

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Little Adventures. My travel companions and I arrived in Hong Kong while Chinese New Years was in full swing and thus found that our guide books and many online advice columns were useless in directing us to restaurants and cultural activities, not because they lacked pertinent information or failed to interest... Cannot say enough good things about Daisann and her company. Despite everything being closed and being turned away by every other tour operator, she was willing to take us out on an adventure in the city. Learnt so much about the culture, history and food. The food we tasted was truly authentic and could not have been experienced without her... More

Don't go to Hong Kong without taking at least one of these private tours or group walks. Daisann and her group offer the best insight into the food and culture of Hong Kong. We ate foods and went places we never could have found on our own, visiting small villages and eating local specialties, listening to Daisann converse in Chinese... More

We have lived in HK for over a year and always wanted to do a tour, to learn more about the culture and one that i could recommend to all our visitors - well we found it. We did the Wan Chai Food and Culture Tour and it was excellent. Our tour guide was Daisann, a fascinating American lady who... More

I was in Hong Kong for work and didn't have much free time to experience Hong Kong outside the business setting, but one thing that I really did want was to get a sense of what Honk Kong is like beneath the skyscrapers. I emailed Little Adventures in the evening thinking that there was no way they could accommodate me... More

Fatima, thank you so much for this lovely account of our walk in Wan Chai. Having you on our tour and then eating that amazing lamb curry was one of the highlights of the season for me too. Happy trails to you wherever your travels take you next--hope it's to Hong Kong again!--Daisann More

Had a fantastic time doing the private food tour with Daisann! Got a real sense of where the locals shop and eat. If it wasn't for this tour, I wouldn't have found the best place to buy Chan Pai, or where to get the best Roasted Goose, or even a local shop that specializes in X.O. Sauce. Daisann really tailored... More

I was looking for something a bit different to do in Hong Kong, and my group walk in Wan Chai with Little Adventures ticked all the boxes. Our guide was brilliant, and the stories she told us were informative and fascinating. I thoroughly enjoyed the mix of history, food and insights into the life of locals. I'd recommend this without... More

Staying in Sheung Wan

Neighborhood Profile
Sheung Wan
Unlike most of Hong Kong’s other popular districts, Sheung Wan welcomes wanderers with an easy-going, relaxed atmosphere. Art galleries are plentiful and boutique cafés are tucked away in every side street in the sub district known as “PoHo.” Browse through the vintage clothing and handmade leather goods stores – it’s no surprise fashionistas flock to this area. History enthusiasts will be rewarded with sites of beautiful architecture, reflecting Sheung Wan’s past as one of the earliest settlements by British forces. As night falls, the entertainment scene reveals itself to be just as laid back with its private kitchens, speakeasies and underground bars dotted throughout the area. When in Sheung Wan, everyday feels like the weekend.
