A must do to go back in time on board and enjoy the view on the Hong Kong skyline... There are 2 levels: above which is a bit more expensive and below. You need to choose before you board the boat. Best way to get from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui.

We went on this on 29th May 2014 and as such it was free as it was travel free day, so I can't comment on token system. However we loved our trips from Hong Kong Island during daylight and back from Kowloon at dusk showing the harbour in all it's splendour at both times of the day. The ships are... More

We took Starferry from Kowloon to HK Central. Use octopus card. Only 2.5hkd. 10min ride. Good harbour view. Smooth ride. The cheapest transport from Kowloon to HK Central.

The Star Ferry has been around over 100 years, and it's something every visitor to Hong Kong should experience more than once. It was hot and muggy when I was there, and I greatly appreciated that every ferry I took had a section that was air conditioned. The standard ferry ride is only 5 - 10 minutes; I also took... More

We took the ferry ride from Tsim Cha Tsui to Hong Kong and absolutely loved it. The ferry is huge and ancient and takes you across the harbour in a few minutes. Do this for the vintage value if nothing else.

Views of HK don't get any better than this. Plus, it's a bargain. It is included in the Octopus card, but also easy for a one way ticket.

We did the 1855 night tour. In my opinion it is probably the best time to go. From the pier near the Avenue of the Stars you will see both the sunset during the tour start and by its conclusion the Hong Kong skyline will be in it's full nighttime effect. It's the best time for photographers. We went on... More

The Star Ferry is not what it used to be before 3 or 4 underground tunnels and all the subway lines. Still crossing the Hong Kong harbor 1st class on Star Ferry is still a nice way to cross and a great way to see the Hong Kong skyline.

Do not miss to take the traditional ferries to cross the harbour. Buy your token at the price of 2HKD, abt 0.20€, take your place at the upper deck and feel the breeze!. The best way to tavel from Hong Kong to Kowloon and vice versa. The trip is very short, abt 10mins, and I am sure that you will... More

There is little of the old Hong Kong left in the metropolis, and the Star Ferry is one of the few things left from "the good times". You can take the antiquated boat from Hong Kong to Kowloon or vice versa and from there get quite a good view of both sides of Hong Kong (it's not great for pictures... More
