The ideal way to get across the harbour, offering fantastic views and less than HKD$5. The ferries depart every few minutes, so you won’t be waiting for very long. Once taking 40 minutes in the late 1800’s, this trip is now significantly shorter, around a few minutes long. The ferry service is steeped in history, even down to the crew... More

Excellent view. A must do if in Hong Kong in the evening. The ferry was well maintained and spacious. The sea can be a bit sickening experience if you are not use to it.

Star ferry ride across victoria harbous was probably the highlight of my trip. The ride cost only HDK$2.50. You get to enjoy the night breeze (I took upper dec) and night view. The ferry ride takes about 15mins from Wan Chai to Tsim Sha Tsui.

It's cheap, only take 10-15 minutes, you get great views. What more else can you ask for?! I highly recommend this and a great way to rest your feet too. You can pay via octopus card.

We took the star ferry over to Hong Kong Island from TST at night on the lower deck as this offered an amazing view of the skyline. The lower deck is more atmospheric as you can hear the swish of the sea and, if you stand close to the gunwales, feel the cooling balm of fine flecks of plume. This... More

Great way to get out on the water for a bit and relax to take some pictures and have a glass of wine. The ride was about an hour and takes you all along the way. It was a really relaxing hour, away from the hustle of HK and there are awesome restaurants around as well.

At less than HKD 5 per person (upper deck) for a one way ride on the ferry is cheap. It has a very nice night view.

Star Ferry is relaxing area with stunning view of Hong Kong island.. Nearby museum, cafe, outdoor musical events (if you are lucky), hall of fame (Bruce Lee statue) are few attractions. Get there any time of day and easy to get there via ferry from Hong Kong island, bus, train (MTR) etc. Just beautiful skyscrapers.

Go on a return trip on the ferry and sit on the upper deck just to get full experience of the sights. On the Hong Kong side, you can always drop over at IFC for shopping/food. Similarly for Tsim Sa Chui, Ocean Terminal has a lot of shopping/food options.
