A 90-minute drive from central Beijing, this updated section of the wall offers a good view of how the original might have looked, the constructions techniques, and with the spectacular surrounding hills. Lots of steps and walking following the cable car accent but crowds were not too off-putting and some peace and quiet was possible.

Visited china earlier this year and stayed in Beijing and visited the Great Wall of china. It is a breath taking experience, the views out of this world. It was difficult to get up and down the wall but a lot of fun you can get some great pictures.

Very touristy but the classic great wall view. Go by bus to save a lot of money from scamming taxi drivers. Other sections are much better for more remote/less crowded sections but this is a good attraction.

This was an experience of a life time. I love the fact I can now say I've walked on The Great Wall of China! The ascent is very steep and is quite hard work but it is definitely worth it. When at the top the views are amazing whether your looking over the wall, down the wall or over at... More

This part of the wall is a long drive from Beijing but is well worth it to be away from the crowds. It has beautiful views of the surrounding area and the wall itself is great to see. You get to the wall by cable car and can then walk along it as far as you want to go and... More

This part of the wall is less crowded with tourists so it was an enjoyable visit. We went up and down by cable car while some others in the group chose to come down via a toboggan ride. Be prepared for a lot of climbing of stairs but the views are breathtaking.

Great spot to view the wall. The facilities at the base are brand new and you can stock up on water, food etc before you make your way up. Unfortunately it's now mandatory for you to take the shuttle bus service to the cable car, an added cost that you can't avoid. I would suggest taking the cable up at... More

I took the right advice to choose the mutiyanu side. Drive from Beijing in a private taxi is the best way to reach and have a view of the country side. Most people will like to ascend by the cable car but I decided to walk up. Not a good advice if you have kids, elderly or stuff to carry.... More

wevisited I early afternoon and this was a good decision as there were not too many other visitors. The tee shirt salesmen can be a bit aggressive but with the amount of competition for sales this should be expected.
