said Mao Zedong. I am sure he wasn't right about most things but he was right about this. I am a woman so I am not sure about the "true man" but this was one of the coolest things I ever did in my life. Stunning. Make sure you bring something to drink and wear good shoes. It was actually... More

The Great Wall is a must go place. It's wonderful! We went to Mutianyu and we loved it. We had a long and difficult walk by the wall and it's very nice to go until the part that was not remade. We also loved the infra-structure (toilets and restaurants), the lift and the toboggan.

The Great Wall of China has been on my list of places to visit, steps to walk and climb ever since I was a young boy, enthralled by stories of the wild, unknown imperial past of China as that great oriental unknown. The Wall is without doubt a stunning work of human achievement and a true Wonder of the World.... More

Nice part of the wall - if you have limited time in Beijing, this one is good choice. Bit crowded, but well - it's China... Slide down is great, just make sure you have enough space and no frightened Chinese family infront of you - otherwise you'll go really slow :-) if you have more time though, I would recommend... First of all this is a place too bring your childs :) Our sons loved it. Tell them the story about why they build it and then they start dreaming about the old times. Make sure to buy water to bring because it can be really hot. Great wievs and alot to see.

It is hard to imagine that this wall was started in 700 BC, and is over 5 thousand miles long. AND, it was literally built by hand over a number of years. It is a wonderful site to behold. Pictures just don't do it justice, you have to EXPERIENCE it.Many tours our of Beijing till take you to the best... More

This part of the wall is awesome. Used the cable car to get up there but very happy we did as there was still a lot more climbing to do. The wall is an amazing and very interesting place. Highly recommend.

The wall is, as everyone who sees it says, quite the wonder. We paid a taxi driver to drive us around the entire day, so that he'd wait for us whilst we saw the wall. There are usually many tourists on all the open sections of the wall, but that will not for a moment take away the experience. Across... More

Very nice experience - not many fellow visitors so made walking the wall very pleasurable. Chair lift not recommended if you havn't got a head for heights but the toboggan run on the way back down is great fun.
