We booked a private half day tour with (http://www.tour-beijing.com) up to the Mutianyu stretch of the Great Wall and it was fantastic. Pick up on time, comfortable minibus a very lovely tour guide called Nacey to offer snippets of info and make sure everyone kept to together as a group. We had a group of 9 people with some English,... More

Fantastic experience to walk this part of the wall. There is a lot of wall to explore but it is very easy to do as little or a much as you are able. We went up via the ropeway (rather than the cable car) which got us kinda in the middle. It allowed us to experience a climb up and... More

If ur afraid of heights dont come here ... I went all the way to the top and felt very unconfomfortable , it was CROWDED and the floor is friction-less so it is very easy to slip . The scenery of the mountain and the wall is beautiful . There is food & restrooms , so dont worry . U... More

We made a booking with Novotel at the Chonwenmen Beijing concierge for a day trip to the Wall at Mutianyu as we had heard that this place was excellent for a walk along the wall without the crowds of the sections nearer Beijing, and also with fantastic views of the surrounding mountainous countryside. We were quoted a price for two... More

Going to this part of the Great Wall was the BEST decision we made. They have built this almost like a tourist park with undercover parking, ticket offices, toilet facilities and many souvenir shops which sell items such as hats, shirts, food and trinkets. We previously booked an English speaking driver for 700RMB who picked us up from our hotel... More

Not crowded at all and a such great place to walk on the wall and experience this part of China's history. Thoroughly enjoyed our trip to this part of the wall with Emma our guide.

This was a great place to experience the Great Wall with children because the crowds were smaller, there is a chair-lift ride up to the Wall and a fun toboggan ride down. My kids had a great time and experienced one of the Wonders of the World at the same time.

This section of wall has been well restored, but if you like to see an original section just walk/climb to the right of gate 6. From here you can take great pictures of the wall as it follows the contours of the hills. Be warned though, you need to be fairly fit to complete some of the sections. The chair... More

You cannot go to China and not visit this UNESCO World heritage site. It was one of the highlights of our trip!
