I came to Beijing in 2000 as a freshman of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, where I studied Computer Science and Technology. After graduate from University I worked as a tour guide for many high- end travel agent from US for over 5 years, gaining valuable experience. Working with both large and small groups, I have thoroughly enjoyed accompanying travelers to countless places throughout China.During my work as a guide, I have found many problems within the industry. For instance, many guides get paid for taking clients to shop at particular stores that target foreign tourists since the guide did get paid fairly. Second, I found that the arrangements made for clients are often not very practical. Some overseas agencies are unable to access current information, so as I guided clients, many of them tended to be ill informed with outdated travel information. Also, I noticed that all clients were given the same itinerary regardless of how many people they were traveling with or what their particular interests were. For instance, some of the children traveling with their parents had little interest in visiting the Forbidden City or the Temple of Heaven, but their schedule prevented them from visiting other sites that would have been of greater interest. Also, many guides continue to tell the history of Beijing’s attractions, without informing travelers about Beijing’s recent drastic changes.Third, the quality of the food!
Most of the meals served to clients on standard tours lack a flavor and authenticity unique to China. Clients are often taken directly to restaurants opened to target foreign tourists, instead of local restaurants that specialize in customary Chinese dishes. Some of the clients are even fed the similar food during the whole trip through China.All of these problems led me to develop my own dream of creating a travel agency that trains it’s guides very well, pays them well, provides clients with tailor-made itineraries designed to fit their own interests, and provides high quality meals at authentic restaurants.U China Travel has become the realization of my dream. It serves as a bridge between Chinese culture and foreigners, between China and the world. The aspiration of U China Travel is not to be the biggest, but the best travel company, with the highest quality service in China.

“Leo makes Beijing easy!”

Over a period of two weeks off and on, when suited our needs, Leo took us out to many of the great sites of Beijing..the Great Wall at Mutianyu and again to Jinshaling.
