We did the five hour hike on the Wall. It was a great experience and well-worth it. You start in a quiet ruined section of the Wall which had amazing views and well away from other tourists. Our guide Yaxin was really nice and helpful and did a great job at explaining the history. He had fantastic English as well.... More

This was our second time using Great Wall Hiking and once again everything was perfect. The Simatai-Jingshanling route is challenging enough to be fun (and to keep the crowds away), but easily doable. There are fantastic views of the Wall and the mountains along the whole route. I would highly recommend this tour.

We did the 2 day hike. The first day we hiked through the forest and up to the original none renovated wall, this was a reasonably hard walk but beautiful and made arriving at the wall more rewarding. We then hiked about 6k to the renovated wall the difference is huge and so are the amount of people from seeing... More

I booked the GWGA-11 Small Group Highlight of Great Wall Hiking - Simatai to Jingshanling with Great Wall Hiking and it was perfect. The small groups are limited to now more than eight people. My tour that day had only six plus the guide. They take you out to an area that isn't packed with the large tour buses and... More

We only had a short time in China, and an even shorter time in the Beijing area, but we are sure glad that we spent one of our days on The Great Wall with our amazing guide Cheney. The experience was wonderful right from the start. Cheney met us in our hotel lobby right on time, we climbed into a... More

One of the world top tens, do not miss. While the path is paved and the steps have been redone, climbing to the top may not be for everyone. However, do at least go part way and experience the wonder.

We did the GWPA15 - Jiankou to Mutianyu hike today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Robert was our guide, he was punctual, informative and provided excellent insight into the history of the wall and China. The hike was best along the "wild" Jiankou section, with very few other people around. The terrain was technical due to the state of repair, but... More

I booked this trip with my work colleague in between several very busy work days in Beijing. We were on the tour with two other women and Peter, our guide. It was truly spectacular! Peter was very knowledgable and offered fascinating insight into various aspects of the Great Wall Experience. We got to hike on part of the old, unrestored... More

After reading all the tremendous reviews on TripAdvisor we decided to book this tour versus all of the others offered. What a great choice. This is a once in a lifetime experience, from the private pickup at your hotel, to the excellent tour guide (we had Robert), to the experience hiking the hold wall at Jiankou to the experience waling... My mother and two of my friends booked a private tour with Great Wall Hiking and did the Highlight of the Great Wall from Simatai West to Jinshanling. Peter was our guide and he was amazing. We were very lucky as the air was clear and it had snowed the day before so the views were AMAZING! Peter was an... More
