Beautiful, new shopping area with a giant LED screen in the sky and two shopping malls on either side. Tons of good food and coffee shops around here so its a good place to take a break if you're in this part of the city.

Jaloo Maneck enjoying a visit at The Place, Beijing’s funkiest new mall is easy to spot thanks to the digital canopy that sweeps over its central outdoor plaza - the biggest LED screen in Asia would you believe. It was a spectacular sight and worth spending every minute with Joy. A must visit in Beijing.

The Place has a nice food court in the basement, and of course the massive LCD television in the square. The television wasn't on when I was there, though -- you might have to wait until after sunset. Aside from those two things, I'm not sure why anyone would come here. The shopping was the same as you'd find in... More

The nicest part is the square like space with a big screen on a ceiling of a roof cover. There tend to be many people around holidays because it is nicely decorated then.

many stores, with most on one floor. ferrari store closed so that was upsetting, but there was big screen tv on the ceiling (worth the watch), really pretty sight seeing. if you are craving for upscale bakery go to "Paris Baguette "; their bread is amazing, and sweets are worth trying.

Had a meal out at the Japanese restaurant, lots of great little dishes to grill at the table - pushed myself out of my comfort zone with some of the food options. Calm and relaxing atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff made for a great night out.

I lived within a block of the place for a couple of months, and while it was a nice place to find western food, a bit of shopping, and most importantly, coffee, I don't think this is much of a tourist site.
