We spent a fabulous day with Adelyn in mid Oct 2009 at the Great Wall - the Great Wall Less Travelled tour. And it was wonderful! As another traveller has remarked these tours are not the cheapest. However, you get what you pay for and this tour is top end in terms of travel comfort and Adelyn was accommodating and... more

I highly recommend the hutong and night market tours! Jenny was friendly and knowledgeable, and the tours provided a fascinating and delicious sense of the variety of Beijing food. more

We went on two of the tours, Nightmarket and Hutong. Both excellent in providing access to food, culture and information about Beijing that otherwise would not have been available to us even though we have a local American friend. Adlyn (guide) is a delight. Food destinations are carefully selected for their authenticity, cleanliness and culinary interest. A great addition to... more

I've recently returned from Beijing where me and two friends (we are ages 28-32) spent a great morning/early afternoon doing a street tour with Jenny through Hias Gourmet Culinary Excursions. I usually hate tours and strongly resisted, but one of my friends was equally persistent and won. I have to say that this was one of the best/most memorable experiences... more

A must! Adlyn took us on a two hour tour of the night markes and showed us a fantastic time. She's knowledgeable, personable!, and the time passed quickly as we covered over 200 food stalls. Make sure she gets you a taste of jian bing--a combo of crepe and burrito that made us nostalgic for LA. She knows how to... more

I recently did two food tours with Hias Gourmet in Beijing. Adlyn the guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. The small group sizes mad it like a personal tour. I did the Hutong Eats and the night market tour. We were able to visit places tourists would never find and try allorts of delicious food that we never would have... more

A friend of mine and I took the Hutong neighborhood tour with Adlyn and 4 others. We stopped and ate at a couple of places along the road I never would have looked twice at- and it was delicious! Adlyn was outstanding. Very attentive and obviously knows everything about the Chinese culture. We had already been in Beijing for 5... more

Last week, I took two food tours with Hias Gourmet: the Hutong Eats tour and the Night Market tour. The tours were certainly one of the highlights of my trip to Beijing. Both of my guides, Jenny and Adlyn, were friendly, fun, and knowledgeable, and both were able to provide a great variety of information--not just about the food, but... more

We booked 2 activities through Hias Gourmet Culinary Excursions. The first was a cooking class in a hutong. This was absolutely amazing. There were 5 people in the class, so there was plenty of hands on learning. We made a few chicken dishes, a tofu dish, and a cucumber salad. We also learned all about the differences between soy sauces,... more

Last week I had the opportunity to take two culinary tours in Beijing with Hias Gourmet. The Great Wall Less Travelled and Sihuan Farmers Market tours provided me with local insight that was second to none and gave me a fascinating look into the culture and cuisine of China. I first headed out to the Great Wall at Mutianyu with... more
