We had a fabulous tourguide and great time with walking tour. We met Angela at the Wafujing Bookstore, and first did the Wanfujing Street. It was an incredible experience with all the different foods, from snakes to scorpions! Angela started off with some foods that we were more used to. She tested to make sure the foods were fine for... More

I had a regional chinese cooking class. That class was a small group class, so it was nice. I think it was very interesting. First we saw the chef how to make the recipe, and after that we make it by ourselves. After finished it, we both tried the food and the chef told us about the good and bad... More

I had a little free time in Beijing and went ahead and booked this foodie tour. Would highly recommend it. The guide was great and gave us the opportunity to experiment with more unusual cuisine (for some who wanted to taste, they could; for others, to simply learn about a particular item was enough). But, we also had quite a... More

Really enjoyed the night market tour. There were only 3 of us, plus a guide so it was a nice small group. The guide was very good and made sure we visited, explored and tasted all that we wanted. More

We did the Hutong Eats tour with Angela, a really interesting, nice and supportive guide. We, including a 5 year old kid, tasted things we would otherwise perhaps not dared to eat and some nice sightseeing was also included in the tour. At the end, Angela reserved for us the perfect Peking duck place for the evening, the perfect day! More

Adlyn at Hias actually organized a day of activities for us, Starting with the Hutong food tour and then a tea tasting near by, we met up with Collin at a corner about 10 minutes north of the Forbidden City by Houtai lake. He was great! Sharp, engaging and willing to be challenged, we snacked our way around the neighborhood... More

We went on a morning breakfast tour to discover the typical Beijing breakfast and see the farmers market in central Beijing. The group was two tourists in their 60s, one Beijing resident in her 30s and a baby of 18 months. We all thoroughly enjoyed it! We were a bit apprehensive about what awaited us on this 2 hour tour... Hias Gourmet provided a perfect introduction to Chinese cuisine and culture. The Dim Sum cooking class allowed me to experience the morning bustle of an indoor market and grocery shop like a Beijinger, detect subtle differences between vinegars and soy sauces, and fold fresh doughs into wontons, shu mai, and pork buns in my instructor’s cozy hutong kitchen. On the... More

We did the night market tour and a cooking class. Both were excellent. The cooking class was interactive and we learned a lot. The night market tour with Colin was really good - we ate things we wouldn't have tried before and learned so much about Chinese street food. Colin was funny and knowledgeable. This was a very valuable tour. More

This was my family's first trip to China and the first tour we did was through Hias Gourmet with guide Angela. We did the Beijing Snack and Hutong Tour and it was the perfect introduction not only to the City, the hutongs, the food, but to the rich culture that one never stops to see. The food was unbelievable -... More
