Yangtze Gold 7 My sister and I embarked on an SNA tour which included 4 night and 5 day cruise. We arrived late, just before midnight and shortly afterwards was entering our cabin. It was rather nice and the bathroom small but adequate. The beds were extremely firm, so it may not suit everyone, but I was fine with it.... More

We were on a cruise and thoroughly enjoyed this magnificent river and the scenery. It's a bit sad that centuries of history and culture lie in a watery grave several meters below the surface in order to build the dam. But the three gorges is still very beautiful and totally worth seeing.

We spent 3 days on the Yangtze as part of the Majestic Yangtze Wendy Wu tour. The Scenery was dramatic and despite one rainy day we had an interesting trip. The extra trips are a little staged but let you see some of the Wildlife along the Banks . Local guides are really helpful. Took loads of photos.

I was afraid that I would be bored staying inside the ship for three nights. The ship organised lots of activities throughout the day and the scenaries of the gorge along the Yangtse river were amazing. My ship did not stop at the village near XiLing (3 tribes) which was the best of all the pit stops. So choose your... More

Traveling down the three gorges to the huge dam was a great trip. Beginning with the Qutang Gorge, the shortest and narrowest, and its sheer cliffs half hidden by the mist, we then entered the Wu Gorge and its forested mountains. There are 12 peaks including Goddess Peak. A side trip down a Yangtze tributary on a smaller sampan also... More

I'm writing here because I wish to include several different excursions while traveling downstream from Chongquing to Yichang for 3 nights on the Victoria Anna, which is a totally lovely cruise ship, very well run, with excellent staff, food and entertainment. (see my report "Yangtze River"). Anyway, 1st excursion was to a Relocation Village near Fengdu. We traveled by bus... More

We took a 5 day cruise and found this to be beautiful. Very relaxing and enjoyed the sights. The colors do not change until late October, but still gorgeous.

The dam changed this area forever. The dam is very worth visiting. The three gorges are still impressive. The tourist stops are just that 'touristy' with thousands each day descending on these imitation bits of history.

True, the Yantze cruise is relaxing but expect a lot more walking on shore. Going to China you gotta to be physically fit for lots of walking. We sailed from Yichang to Chongqing aboard the Victoria Jenna for four nights. If you lower your expectation, you will have a great time so try to avoid comparing US standards. It's China!... More

A very leisurely three day, four night cruise down the Yangtze River from Yichang to Chongqing, a distance of only 660 kms. Various cruise boats make these trips with most being up to 7000 tons. The scenery, although quite misty for the most part, is through high picturesque gorges .and past little towns and villages along the way. A visit... More
