It was the usual back-to-school shopping time for my two kids. Where else could we go than Nakumatt Nyali? Within an hour, I had a new par of shoes from the Bata shop within, some much-needed toiletries and of course, the in-house baked bread was irrestitible! So much for convenience for a busy mom :)

I frequently visited this mall for the several times I have been to Mombasa. This time I was astonished when the manager called to inform me that I had left my ipad at the pay counter. How did they know it was mine remains a puzzle.

I liked that it is a one-stop-shop for anything that you need, from food to clothing and entertainment stuff. I disliked the slow speed of service by the cashiers. There was a very long queue and spend more time in the queue that in shopping. But I got to understand that Msa is a go-slow time. No hurry at all.

Nakumatt is a supermarket that is in a large mall complex called City Mall. We went to Nakumatt numerous times during our trips to Mombasa to buy drinks, fruits etc to stock our mini bar. We also patronized the other stores in the mall, bought gifts, t-shirts at the One Way shop and gorgeous necklaces at Kazuri Necklaces. I cannot... More

Instead of using the hotel minibar we got our drinks and snacks from Nakumet and saved ourselves a fortune. The shopping complex has good restaurants (Handi) 1st floor and a variety of shops. I even had a pair of glasses made at Optica which are excellent value. T shirts are worth buying at the complex rather than hotel or outside... More
