I believe it makes a big difference to plan a masai mara safari around the wildebeest migration season. Although the game drives at the savannah are exhilarating enough, seeing the "greatest wildlife show on earth" (derived from an article I've seen!) will really make your experience unforgettable. Yes, it may be more expensive during the season and yes, you need... More

We had an excellent trip to the river. Our driver stayed behind and we where escorted on foot by a guide and a guard, to view the hippos and crocodiles at the river bank. We have also seen lots of birds, monkeys, mongoose and a monitor lizard at the river. The wildebeest where very large in numbers, however they did... More

... at a crocodile! We were here during the migration time when thousands of wildebeest and other animals cross the continent. At a river like this, the crocodiles take advantage of the fact that the migrating animals are not naturally suited to the water. There are also a lot of hippos here, so if the crocs don't get you, they... More

I have always been about the beach when it came to holidays but i can honestly say i was almost ashamed of what i have been missing all this time! I visited Maasai Mara with my boyfriend in the end of September 2012 so we may have missed the migration but the migration is not what the Mara is all... More

The most electric adventure I have experienced. Truly incredible . We were able to see a crossing of animals in the migration from north to south into Tanzania and the Serengeti. Complete with crocodiles!

We were lucky enough to see 2 river crosssings in one day - absolutely total mayhem as the animals made the crossiings!! not helped by the crocodiles and hippo. But what a spectacle! Pity about the vehicles adding to the chaos.
