I recently returned from Kenya and would think twice before booking with this company. Our basket was full with 16 people. Take off was smooth and uneventfully until the basket caught on fire. The captain panicked and came unhinghed. Out came the fire extinguster and a fellow rider put out the fire. The captain tried to call for help from... More

On the particular day after flying for some minutes I noticed smoke coming from behind... More

I bought this balloon safari for my father as a surprise birthday present while we were on safari in the Northern Serengeti. He had a fantastic time, saw huge numbers of game and was thoroughly impressed by the pilot skills of Captain Kim who was a real character. This was followed by a champagne breakfast on the banks of the... More

Hot air ballooning is not cheap no matter where in the world you do it, but it gives you a perspective that you would never get any other way, so I figure it's worthwhile. The company picked us up at our lodge at 4:30 in the morning and drove us to the Fig Tree Camp where we had time for... More

Recently went on a ballon ride in Tanzania run by this company and found the Captain to be an absolute idiot who put the lives of the people on board in jeopardy. He was constantly showing off and making jokes which was ok till he decided to skin the river with the basket of the balloon. He actually went so... More

When I booked it, my pocket definitely got dented a little but I just cannot deny the fact that its a must have experience in Masai Mara. My tour operator chose the balloon safari operator for me. They are just perfect with their planning. Because my tented camp was far away from launching site, they sent a 4WD previous evening... More

Balloon tour itself was great but was uncomfortable with initial take off as felt like we were too close to wildlife for first few minutes into flight. View from sky was amazing. Owner seemed American which also bothered me as I'd prefer revenue funds to stay with Kenyan people. I gave a tip to ground crew and really hoped that... More

Adventures Aloft have a well organised operation, with well-drilled support crew, experienced captains and excellent equipment. This was my first hot-air ballon ride - a last-minute decision which I didn't regret, despite the fairly high cost. The spectacular sunrise over the vast expanse of the Massai Mara, the many game species dotted below, and the champagne breakfast as an enjoyable... More

This trip was so worth the expense , unfortunately my husband drew the short straw as we couldn't afford for us both to do the trip. However, our safari guide and driver followed the balloon with my husband for amazing pictures from the ground - hats off to the fig tree camp! Champagne breakfast in the bush a lovely experience... I have been on a balloon ride before, Bristol is after all where these balloons are made! We were picked up at 4.45am and taken to the fig tree lodge which was worlds away from Porini camps but obvious luxurious and an interesting insight nonetheless. On arrival to the lodge we were checked in and assigned a group. It was... More
