My 5th visit. Just getting below the surface. Take time and look carefully into the shadows of the workshops and godowns. You will miss most of it at first glance. A very friendly town which repays getting to know; A Swahili Stone Town smaller and gentler than Zanzibar. Its resources are limited but in a very beautiful setting. No cars,... more

It could have been so much more, if they only cared. Sad to see the old town so run down and in shambles. There was only one cute store, Gallery Baraka. The people were nice but the 'streets' and old town were just in such a bad state. Florence is old, but still cared for... not the case in this... more
