The museum is interesting but you really have to take some time to go through and read all the little details to get most out of it. The presentation is fairly basic and wouldn't be engaging for someone not willing to commit the time and effort to digging around a bit. Would only recommend if you've got some time and... More

This is a really great 'must see' as it really gives you an insight into this great country. All the staff were very pleasant and made us feel very welcome.

Kenya's National Archives is located in one of Nairobi's oldest stone buildings, the former Bank of India built in 1906. The first floor and much of the second floor houses the Murambi Gallery, a fascinating collection of art and artifacts from Joseph and Sheila Murumbi, tow of Africa's most famous collectors. Joseph Murumbi was Kenya's first Foreign Minister and the... More

The National Archives, apart from being a record and national literature library, is a collection of African artifacts showing different styles and cultures from all over the continent. As a fan of African ethnography I found it amazing, much more here than you will find in any museum and a with much more variation in regards to region and people.... More

I have had the opportunity to inspect books and writings dating back over 100 years relating to a particular tribe of Kenya. I found all the historical and geographical information I needed. Very nice and highly trained and informed.

A lot of interesting objects, but the place does not give them space enough to shine. On the upper floor a rich collection of first-day stamp marks describing various events in the last 70-80 years.

The Archives show photos and give information about all the various tribes of Kenya and their traditional lives. It's a very informative and educational exhibition.

Completely disorganized. Disappointing. If it was not Government funded, I am not sure how it would still survive. However, if you are a researcher, you could scramble through things and find a lot of unorganized but valuable information.
