Not only did we get to experience a giraffe encounter up close, but we got to feed one. In addition, the talk about the types of giraffes found in Africa was helpful, as we were to see them on safari later in our trip.

This place combines well with elephants' sanctuary and Karen Blixen Museum since they are both in the same area. The fee for residents is 200 KES and for non residents 1000 KES and it is open every day from 9 AM. The concept is very simple but also very fun - you enter and feed the giraffes. They will take... My girlfriend and I visited the giraffe centre during a back packing trip around Africa. We found the experience amazing. The centre offers the opportunity to get close and personal with the giraffe, feeding and kissing them. The also hold educational classes (to learn about the animals) and tours around the nearby forest where you learn about other wildlife. The... More

They have an elevated platform from where you can feed the giraffes. When we went, Giraffes were quite inside and their attendants had to call them to the platform. We also saw warthogs. It was generally an interesting experience.

What an amazing experience. At the giraffe center their goal is to rehabilitate and release giraffes back into the wild. In the meantime, they stay at the center where you can stand on a feeding platform and feed them small specially made pellets. They have wonderful guides and a small education center. The gift shop is fabulous as well.

What a great photo op to capture giraffes eating out of your hand. You are on a platform eyeball to eyeball with these beautiful creatures feeding them pellets provided by the staff. We also heard a short talk about these and other types of giraffes that was quite informative. We were there on a day when small school children were... More
