Nature trails, the waterfalls, little lakes, butterflies, fresh air, birds singing, little animals, everything you wouldn't expect to find within a busy city- Karura Forest. I am definitely going back there over and over again. And you can bike too, haven't done though yet.

This is a pice of national heritage that is sadly quite neglected, the trees are magnificent but it's not well kept, a little attention to detail could make this an amazing location but mediocrity is the watchword - charge a little more and do it well.

Thanks for your visit and review, but we wonder if we are talking about the same forest? Indeed, we agree that the trees in the indigenous parts of Karura Forest Reserve are magnificent, but from there we have to disagree with you. Karura has been made safe and secure over the past six years by the Friends of Karura Forest... More

Karura forest is a great escape from the commotion of the city. It's perfect for a picnic or walk through the woods. Visitors can bike or run the paths, and you can even bring your dog. There are different paths or circuits to choose from, one even follows a stream that flows into a waterfall. Further along are a few... More

Not many metropole cities have a forest within the city.... Karura is great for running, there are proper tracks (5,10,15k), it seems very safe.

My husband and I 10 miles in this beautiful safe forest only 20 min from our home in Nairobi. It has several types of monkey: Syke, Vervet and others I cannot Identify. Also I have seen the most Beautiful Turquiose Butterflys there. 100 foot canapy trees. I am so glad it is close to my home and the city! Also... More

Karura forest is a great place to hike, walk, picnic, bike and get away from the city right here in Nairobi. I only wish that it was free and that there were more places like this in the city. But it is quite safe, so I suppose the fee helps make that happen. The trees are lovely, there are some... More

We both love outdoor activities so it was nice to hire some bikes and cycle around this beautiful forest. There are lovely waterfalls that are beautiful. We enjoyed it.
