Karura Forest is a nice place to take a walk in Nairobi - and one of the few places to do so. Even on the weekends it's not too crowded. Just wish there were a few more nice picnic spots. Highly recommended.
Karura is a beautiful forest just a stone's throw away from the hustle bustle of Nairobi. It's a great place to picnic and do a 2-4 hour hike depending on which trail you choose. Watch out though if you're going just after a rain. The trail washes out and gets pretty muddy!

Excellent walking and cycling trail. Should Avoid going during the rains or after a good spell of rains. Well marked trails take you through 5/ 10 / 15 km trails!
This is a perfect place to recollect and relax looking at the trees and listening to the music c=from the birds. Good for retreat, prayers etc and more so nature lovers its take you there.
Walked here on a Sunday with my wife - numerous Europeans and Africans. This a lovely urban park with pleasant but not spectacular scenery and good length paths to walk/hike along.
I have walked here twice this year. fresh air. plenty trees. lovely waterfall. i really enjoyed my self. will be visting more often i must recommend
