I live in Nairobi and visit Spinner's Web multiple times per month. It is a consignment shop where locals sell their handicrafts. The place has everything you could want to buy made in East Africa - beautiful handmade clothes, wood carved into intricate animals, electronic cases made from unique local fabric, jewelry, homewares, etc. etc. etc. My favorite part about... If you want a wide assortment of curio, without the constant hustle and haggling, than this is the place to go. Prices are set, you can look around quietly, no questions asked. Only when you question you are helped. The shop is basically split up into little shops with their own specialities. There is jewelry, baskets, wooden artifacts, leather shop,... More

When I am tired of haggling with local merchants, Spinners Web is the place I turn to for purchasing gifts or finding what I may need of local crafts people. The prices are mostly fair and nobody follows you around as you peruse. Enjoy.

They still have old books (200KES, you can find novels, poetry, guides for various countries), and they also introduced CDs and DVDs. We were lucky to find a set of two music DVDs (most of the music was so called classical music) for 200KES, both working perfectly, and also a perfect copy of Thailand guide. Old books and discs are... More

I have visited spinners web several times in the past with the last one being in August 2014. There is a large variety of artifacts and one word can describe the collection: unique. Especially, the antiques. There are very interesting pieces that one cannot find in the markets. However, at a bit higher cost...but I guess it's worth it. Two... More

We visit this shop regularly for soft furnishings and presents for family back home in the UK. The prices are reasonable, there is no hassle or need to barter and it is in safe and pleasant surroundings. Unfortunately the service at the cafe is awful. The food is nice but the service is very poor and this puts us off... More

We come here regularly to buy gifts to take back to UK. Nice environment with no hassle from sellers. Everything priced so no need to barter. We would come here more often and use the cafe (as would many of our friends) but the service is terrible. Very slow and unwelcoming. If i ran the store i would sort this... More

The place is not a central one, but it is very spacious, has a good parking and a small cafe (coffee not bad at all, there is pizza, not much of a food choice) and a garden. It is quiet and relaxing inside, photography not allowed, though. Staff are very nice and friendly, but sometimes payment process can get a... More

We didn't purchase much since we have wine taste on beer budget. However, the selection and quality were excellent. Not the stuff you would buy on the roadside stands.

I had read reviews about this shop and was interested to check out the shop. They have a lot of products, good variety however they are over priced. You can get better prices at the Giraffe Centre Gift Shop or the Intercontinental Hotel Gift Shop, the quality is at par or better. Very nice and clean shop.
