We made a stop on our way back from Mara. I was reluctant but the guide insisted. I was wrong. I was mesmerised by the number of birds I saw, I saw more exotic birds in the wild then i have seen my entire life. The two guys guiding us in the hired boat were proud guides who wanted to... More

We took a boat trip along the lake. We both love animals and nature, and we definitely saw plenty of those! As you float along the lake, peace strikes you. The only noise you hear are the birds. The lake is gigantic and filled with all sorts of animals. We saw heaps of hippos, sleepily enjoying the serenity of the... More

I had low expectations for Lake Naivasha but our 1 hour boat safari was great! We saw many hippos (including a baby) close up and a lot of other animals including many birds, waterbuck, zebras, giraffes and other mammals.

A boat trip was an excellent experience - loads of birds, hippos, eagles diving through air for a fish that you threw. It is an affordable excursion and with the knowledgeable guides it was very pleasant to bask in the sun and listen to the facts about the lake. One of the options is also a walk on the island... Good for a 1 -2 hr visit, Has good history especially with the Out of Africa movie shot on the Crescent Island. Few Hippo families, flamingos and Pelicans, lots of water birds and a enjoyable boat ride. Priecy $90 for the ride

I never saw so many hippos together in my life. We were able to get very close to them. Similarly, saw lots of pelicans (and other birds whose names I am yet to research). We walked on the Crescent Island w'ldl'fe sanctuary and again we were fascinated with the beauty of the nature and variety of the wildlife there. Must... More

Lies in the Rift valley, North-west of Nairobi(capital city Of Kenya). It is the Second largest Fresh water Lake after lake Victoria. Lake Naivasha used to Host thousands of flamingos ten years ago, however the number has has reduced to to ecological changes.
