Our visit was somewhat marred by the weather. Before we saw the Lake properly we were hailed upon , and no gentle "showering " this , then it cleared a little so we took to the boat , a few minutes later it rained ! . Sitting in this narrow canoe style boat in choppy conditions and holding an umbrella... More

Had a fantastic time on Lake Naivasha - the setting is beautiful and serene. Although you don't have the flamingos on display like Nakuru, there is an amazing array of wildlife - African birds of all types, various antelopes, monkeys, hippo's, wildebeest and so on. The ride on the boat is passable - my advice is to have a guide... More

An excellent place for anyone interested in wildlife. Hippos and Fish Eagles are guranteed. Be warned it is quite a challenge photographing the eagles taking fish off the surface as they are so quick! We also saw 2 species of cormorant, 3 species of kingfisher, little bittern, jacana, purple swamphen, whiskered tern, purple heron, 3 species of egret etc.. The... More

The boat trips on the lake to view the wildlife are great fun. There are many Hippo's in the lake and you will see lots. They are quite lazy so don't expect much action but to be able to get within a few feet of these big beasts is truly amazing. Our boatman had a ready supply of dead fish... More

There are many boat trips available either from the lodges/ camps or just driving by. It is well worth the cost to have the opportunity to see the hippos, cormorants, ducks, geese, pelicans, eagles and water bucks from a boat. There is also a private game park to walk through where you can get up close and personal with some... More

Lake Naivasha, a place you can see thousands of hippos, variety of beautiful birds. Its a bird watchers paradise and you can reach very near to them while in the boat trip in the lake. the eagle coming and taking your fish before it falls in the lake as you throw it in air is lovely to watch. Also, you... More

Lake Naivasha is not a game park like Lake Nakuru, though you will find game here. Park entrance fees are $100 for up to 4 people, and that includes a boat tour and a walking safari. As you arrive down a bumpy dirt road, you find a couple of guys with a soda stand and a few small boats. There... More

We loved this resort. Lying in the sun and having curoius goats come and say hello was a revelation. We took a matatu from Nairobi and a cab from Navaisha to the resort so it was easy to get to. The lawns and gardens were well maintained and looked lush, the pool was beautiful too it would be a great... More

Lake Naivasha is a freshwater lake located about an hour north west of Nairobi. It is 13kms across and about 991sq kms. The local Masai named the lake " Nai'posha" which means rough water, due to the fact that the wind can form large waves on the lake, and the British misspelled it as Naivasha! The lake itself is very... More
