Lake Naivasha is a lovely lake which is mostly focused on bird life and hippo's, but your boat trip also takes you to the island with Zebra's and other hoofstock. Various species of birds are plentiful; Eagles, cormorants, kingfisher, ducks, waders of all descriptions, pelicans, storks, etc etc. Take the boat tour and it's very reasonable value, I think it... I came here with high expectations but ended up disappointed. I was coming from Samburu and Nakuru and stayed here a day. I did the one hour boat safari in the lake to find hippos, and i certainly saw a few, plus environment is really interesting with lots of dead tress with all types of birds on them. But after... i think these is the perfect place to have a close look at hippos. The only drawback is they are always hiding in the water during the day. Have a boat trip, so you can see also many different kinds of birds. Nice lake view.

Myself and five friends stayed here while visiting lake naivasha and had a mixed time. Mt longonot was great, the hell's gate gorge was also very cool. We had a big issue with our accomdation in fisherman's camp. The beds were dodgy with poor insect nets. The camp owners constantly pestered us trying to sell activities which always cost more... Very peaceful place but filled with wild life. We stayed in the Sopa lodge and giraffes came to our balcony. The boat ride was awesome. Saw 14 different species of birds I have never seen before! Went for a night safari and saw hippos. Stay in Sopa Lodge. Their cottages are beautiful and food is great! Service is very good.

We took six clients with our company Continental Tours and Safaris to this spectacular park.Lake Naivasha is one of Kenya's most stunning Rift Valley freshwater lakes. It is surrounded by feathery papyrus, marshy lagoons and grassy shores. The lake itself is not technically a national park as most of the land around the lake is privately owned, but there are... Only two hours car ride from Nairobi is lake Naivasha. The road to go there is good, panoramic view going down the mountain from Nairobi. On the road side we could see giraffes. There are some very nice lodges, where you can have a good lunch and relax. Nice tour even for a day trip.

A boat trip on lake Naivasha is a worth with a smooth ride in silent waters and plenty of hippos to be seen in their natural habitat and wild animals such as zebra, giraffe, antelope, wilder beast, water bucks and a variety of birds on the shore with the best view from the lake.
