We took the Safari from Nairobi, in Kenya. The Driver of the Land Rover went out of his way to make certain that we saw wild life, every day, and sometimes in the evening. In October, the migration is still in progress. The most exciting thing we did was to take the hot air balloon ride at dawn, over the... More

When I booked our trip to Kenya, I was left with a 24 hour time frame in the Nairobi area and I needed to find something nice to do with my family. I opted for Silole Sanctuary (silolesanctuary.com), thinking it would be close to the park and yet not in the middle of nowhere. What a big mistake, now we... More

This is no Masai Mara, but it's only a 30 minute trip from downtown Nairobi. Go early and you may see big cats. We were there in the middle of the day. We still saw rhino, giraffe, impala, baboons and zebra. As far as I know, there are no elephants in the park. It is a good half day trip... More

Never thought such a large animal could be so docile and sweet! They allow you to feed them and pet them from a viewing stand as well as educate you on the importance of saving the Rothschild giraffe! Great experience!

Not many giraffes. Hard to see the giraffes they did have. They give you a handful of pellets to feed the giraffe, just wasn't too exciting. It was however, clean and lines were not too long. Fun for smaller children.

Very nicely restored home. A bit disappointed I could not take photos inside. The guide was full of information, but felt a little strange being taken to sit down in the garden, to be told Karen's story

Very interesting. Watched the movie before we left for our trip and so everything we saw was fresh in our minds. Our guide was very sweet. No pics inside the museum.

Having read the book, thoroughly enjoyed seeing where LuLu the bushbuck antelope ran through the rooms. Well-informed tour guide. Lovely spot. Recommend.

It does take you back in time to the famous Robert Redford and Meryl Streep movie "Out of Africa". Frankly I didn't knew much about Karen Blixen untill I saw the movie.
