While in Hurgada I decided to spend a couple of days in Luxor. On the morning of my second day I went for a balloon ride. My sister insisted I used Magic Horizon Balloons. She spent many holidays in Luxor, flew with some of the companies over there and said that Magic Horizon was the best organized and insured. They... More

I was on a Magic Horizons Balloon the day before the accident. I had read that each basket carries between 4 and 24 people. Guess what? They don't adhere to the 24 rule. They addded an extra person in each of the 8 cubicles--we were 8 over the limit. Knowing what I know now I would not do it again.... More

Your comment "not again" cannot have been made out of fear for accidents otherwise that would mean for you to avoid all type of planes and possibly boats, trains, cars... More

We booked this at the last minute at their office opposite the Lotus hotel. The guy was upfront about the cost and what was included and they didnt dissapoint, it cost $66. They called our hotel and stated the pick up time the night before. They arrived exactly on time and we were taken to the boat to cross to... More

This is one experience not to be missed. Worth every penny and this is from someone who is terrified of heights!!!! The birds eye views of the Nile, Valley of the Kings and the Temple of Hatshepsut were truly amazing, Watching the sun rise over the Nile was awe inspiring. The pilot was great taking us high, bringing us down... More

Worth waking up at 4:20am! 1) It's a Hot Air Balloon Ride 2) You can see the Sunrise over the Nile 3) You get to see the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut and (my favorite) Sabu Temple, from above! I recommend buying the DVD that is being made during the experience. They use footage of you and your trip as... More

We've been to a balloon ride before in Cappadoccia, Turkey. This one in Luxor is much more organized. There were practically no time wasted for waiting. We were picked up at our cruise ship at 5 AM, ride a boat where we were served with hot tea/coffee and a biscuits then a private bus to the launch site. As soon as... More

I've always wanted to go hot air ballooning so when the opportunity came up to go hot air ballooning over Valley of the Kings on the West Bank and it was pretty inexpensive I was all in! My friend coordinated everything but it was $70 per person or 420 Egyptian Pounds. They take card but prefer cash of course. They... More

An extraordinary experience and being someone scared of heights, I was a little apprehensive initially but never felt a hint of vertigo at all, one of the best things I did on holiday ... marvellous to do this when the weather is guaranteed year round and there is no wind so you just magically float up and down, quite phenomenal...
