Compared to other gardens this one is average. Grass was overgrown and this detracted from overall look. On the positive side there were a lot of different trees from all around the globe which were clearly labelled. Disappointing for me as no flowers.

Lord Kitchener had this island as his special retreat to recover from the battles in Khartoum a hundred years ago. He brought plants from all over the world to it. The gardens are very pleasant to walk through. But if you stop for a picture and anyone is near, you are asked for money, even from men working on the... More

A nice break from termples, sand and crowded markets; a beuatiful setting in the middle of the Nile, where you can take a peaceful stroll among the natural marvels gathered here from most corners of the then brilliant British Empire (remember Cecil Rhodes "a British foot from Cape to Cairo"?)

An island in the middle of the nile. Great place for people who like green areas. You can take a walk around the beautiful gardens

Many of the world's plants and trees are there, great to visit riding the Feluca from Aswan, then talk a walk in the museum and around the island, then take a break on one of the cafes with a cold drink looking over the Nile and the surrounding sand mounds.

Well maintained and clean with great views. Just a shame that there were no flowers in blossom I presume in winter it is better

fantastic garden with so many old trees of different shapes and flowers so beautifully managed. excellent place for sitting alone to enjoy the Nile and Aswan with out noise, the bad thing is the expensive price for drinks in the cafe and haggling people selling staff at exit.

Rare plants , perfect safe place for a family with kids, u can walk between trees and watch the wonderful plants, this attraction is normal for me, there are more interesting islands in Aswan to see like Kalabsha, Aswan Island.

One can only reach the botanical gardens on kitchener island by boat. There are some places to have a drink, buy souveniers and there are wc's. One has a beautiful collection of trees and palms, bu did not see any flowers. The gardens more or less are the whole island, it has about 4 walkways the full length of the... More
