it's so interesting drive through the countryside to see the first upper egypt governorate,it takes about 90 minutes to reach the site of the pyramid also you can go inside the pyramid and see another tomb next to the north east side of the pyramid with the ruins of the morturay temple next to the east side of the pyramid. Most people visit the pyramid fields around Cairo, and forget this one. its about 45 mins drive east of the Fayoum, but it is well worth a visit. About 30 km North East of Al Fayoum, the first view of the Meidum Pyramid is different to the other pyramids in Egypt. The little oasis in front made it even more impressive. They don't know who really built the pyramid and archeologists believe there are still many more secrets of the pyramid to be revealed. I think the pyramid was only recently opened to the public.
